Educational Requirements:
∎ At least a Bachelor's degree in Geography, Environmental science, Computer science, URP or any other fields related to GIS and Geo-information Science. Preference shall be given to the candidates having a Master's Degree as well.
Experience Requirements:
∎ At least 2 year(s)
Job Responsibilities:
∎ mPower Social Enterprises Ltd. mostly deals with clients from Government and Non-Government Organizations. During the project life-cycle, regular monitoring of deliverables from different stakeholders within deadlines is absolutely necessary. We are looking for someone who will take complete ownership of his/her projects from initiation to closure.
∎ Lead in design, development and collection of relevant geospatial information with data collection tools.
∎ Analyze data acquired from UAV, satellites, or ground-based platforms, using statistical analysis software (such as R), image analysis software (ERDAS Imagine, TerrSet, ENVI etc.), or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software (QGIS, ArcGIS) to solve problems in agriculture, natural resource management, climate change etc.
∎ Develop or build technical or scientific databases for remote sensing or related geospatial project information.
∎ Prepare scientific or technical reports or presentations of geospatial project information.
∎ Compose, manage, and run Python scripts to streamline project organization.
Additional Requirements:
∎ 2 or more years of experience in using specialized mapping software such as ArcGIS, ERDAS Imagine or QGIS and/or Statistical software R.
∎ Experience in using Web GIS tools.
∎ Basic understanding of scripting with Python.
∎ Ability to communicate with technical as well as non-technical people.
∎ Keen interest in solving social and economic problems using GIS.
