Responsibilities & Context:

The Eco-Social Development Foundation (ESDF) is the enterprise wing of the Eco-Social Development Organization (ESDO), committed to promoting sustainable, inclusive, and market-driven social enterprises in Bangladesh. ESDF operates across multiple sectors, including agro-processing, food products, construction materials, hospitality, and ecotourism, creating employment and economic opportunities for local communities.

To strengthen its growing portfolio, ESDF is seeking a dynamic, strategic, and result-oriented professional for the position of General Manager (Marketing).

Position Overview

The General Manager (Marketing) will lead the overall marketing strategy, brand positioning, distribution systems, and sales growth of ESDF’s diversified product lines. The role requires a visionary leader with strong market intelligence, business acumen, and team leadership capabilities.

Job Location: Dhaka with frequent field visits across ESDF operational areas

ESDF is inviting applications from interested qualified candidates for the following position.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Market Research & Business Intelligence

  • Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis for all ESDF products

  • Identify market trends, consumer behavior, pricing strategies, and competitor positioning

  • Develop data-driven insights to support business expansion and product diversification

2. Distribution Channel Development

  • Design and expand efficient distribution networks (wholesale, retail, institutional, digital platforms)

  • Establish partnerships with dealers, agents, and corporate buyers

  • Ensure product availability and market penetration across targeted regions

3. Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement innovative marketing strategies and methodologies

  • Lead branding, promotion, and communication campaigns (offline & digital)

  • Build and manage a high-performing marketing and sales team

  • Ensure achievement of sales targets and revenue growth

4. Product Portfolio Marketing

Lead marketing strategies for ESDF’s key products and services:

  • 🌾 Rice

  • 🍞 Bread & Bakery Products

  • 🏨 Hotel / Guest Room & Hospitality Services

  • 🌿 Mustard Oil

  • 🧀 Cheese & Dairy Products

  • 🌱 Seeds & Agricultural Inputs

  • 🧱 Hollow Block & Construction Materials

5. Brand Development & Promotion

  • Strengthen ESDF brand identity and positioning in competitive markets

  • Plan promotional campaigns, product launches, and customer engagement strategies

  • Utilize digital marketing, e-commerce, and social media platforms

6. Sales & Performance Management

  • Set sales targets and monitor performance across product lines

  • Develop KPI-driven sales systems and reporting mechanisms

  • Analyze sales data and optimize strategies for growth

7. Partnership & Business Development

  • Explore new market opportunities, corporate clients, and institutional buyers

  • Develop strategic alliances with distributors, retailers, and investors

  • Support proposal development and business expansion initiatives
