Education:
  • Postgraduate/master’s degree in education, gender studies, international development, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in education program implementation, with a focus on gender mainstreaming and girls' education.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in providing gender mainstreaming/responsive/transformative training for education providers.

  • Strong knowledge of gender dynamics and gender-responsive education strategies.

  • Consistently and dedicatedly monitor/assess the safety and security of the team, promptly reporting concerns or incidents to Mukti Cox’s Bazar management and liaising with other external parties as required to maintain/enhance the security environment.      

  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure quality implementation and contribution to Mukti Cox’s Bazar.      

  • Strong facilitation skills, proven experience in conducting trainings/capacity building on education related issues in English and Bengali.      

  • Demonstrated experience working in the FDMN response, humanitarian programs, and collaboration with other humanitarian actors.     

  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively, including the ability to advocate for and simplify complex education concepts.      

  • Excellent English and Bangla oral and written communication skills. Can effectively translate to and from English to Bangla to Chittagong/Rohingya language.     

  • Strong commitment to the rights-based approach·      

  • An effective, strategic, and innovative influencer with high initiative to facilitate change in integrating gender and protection minimum standard.     

  • High level of adaptability, ability to work in multi-cultural teams.     

  • Collaborative and team player; works well with others.

Responsibilities & Context:

This is a project-based position. The position holder mainly responsible for Lead efforts to mainstream gender considerations, to increase girls' enrollment and retention in learning facilities, develop and implement strategies to ensure gender-responsive curriculum, monitor children attendance, especially girls’ attendance and finally training and capacity-building sessions for project staffs on gender-sensitive and girls' education programming

Gender Mainstreaming:

  • Lead efforts to mainstream gender considerations across all education programs and activities.

  • Conduct gender assessments and analyses to identify gender-specific challenges and opportunities within the education sector.

  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure gender-responsive curriculum, teaching methodologies, and school management practices.

  • Collaborate with project field staffs and different community stakeholders to integrate gender equality principles into education program implementation and practices.

Targeted initiatives for Girls' Education:

  • Develop and implement targeted initiatives to increase girls' enrollment and retention in learning facilities.

  • Identify barriers to girls' education and design interventions to address these challenges in Rohingya camps context.

  • Advocate for girls' education within the refugee community and among humanitarian actors.

  • Support the establishment of safe and conducive learning environments for girls.

Capacity Building and Training:

  • Provide training and capacity-building sessions for project staffs on gender-sensitive and girls' education programming.

  • Develop and contextualize training materials to build knowledge, capacity and awareness session on positive gender norms, importance of girl’s education and as per the need of the field, especially for female volunteers and religious leaders.

  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of gender and girls' education initiatives and make necessary adjustments.

Community engagement and consultation:

  • Develop agenda and key messages for the community engagement meetings and support the field staffs for successful conduction.

  • Identify and engage with key stakeholders within the community, including community leaders, elders, and women's groups. Organize regular community meetings to provide updates on projects, gather feedback, and address concerns.

  • Conduct focus group discussions with community members to delve deeper into specific issues and gather qualitative data. Administer surveys and questionnaires to collect quantitative data and measure community opinions.

  • Ensure that all engagement efforts are culturally sensitive and respect local traditions and norms.

  • Ensure effective communication by addressing language barriers and using appropriate communication channels.

  • Collect quarterly reflection from community to improve the community engagement strategy

 Advocacy, Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with other women led organization, NGOs, and government bodies at camp level to ensure coordinated efforts in promoting girls' education and gender equality.

  • Participate in UNICEF all partner monthly gender meeting and work closely with UNICEF gender focal point to share the organizational progress, challenges and opportunities representing gender and girls' education concerns.

 Knowledge Management, Monitoring & Reporting:

  • Work closely with information and data officer to track, compile and analyze data on gender.

  • Monitor children attendance, especially girls’ attendance, retention and participation in classes and provide regular reports to supervisors and stakeholders.

  • Document best practices, success stories and lessons learned related to gender mainstreaming and girls' education.

Policy Compliance & Safeguarding:

  • Advocate for the integration & upholding Core humanitarian Standard (CHS) among team & stakeholders.

  • Raise awareness among team & stakeholders about the importance of policy compliance of organization, government & donor and safeguarding in the context of the Rohingya response.

  • Safeguarding and PSEA: To meet the program's objectives for safeguarding and PSEA implementation, make sure team members are protected from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. serve as a major resource for help, direction, and knowledge on safeguarding & Child protection for developing a safe workplace. To ensure that safeguarding standards are used in every course of action, team members should practice, advocate, and embrace safeguarding policy concerns.
