Educational Requirements:

∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s): Agriculture, Excellent Written skills for writing reports, Research and Analysis, Strategic Planning

Job Responsibilities:
∎ *Specific duties include:*
∎ Participate in regular in-person and remote meetings with counterparts from UT and USAID/Bangladesh to coordinate research and planning activities
∎ Support the research team to conduct follow-up interviews with workshop participants and other key informants
∎ Support the research team to compile and organize findings to present to counterparts at USAID/Bangladesh
∎ Participate in informational and planning meetings with technical staff from the U.S. Embassy in Dhaka to discuss the development of the GFSS plan and solicit input
∎ Prepare written meeting minutes and progress reports to present to UT

Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at least 18 years
∎ *Minimum Experience:*
∎ Minimum Fifteen ( 15) or more years of experience in the agricultural sector, with demonstrated experience in conducting assessments and studies in the areas of agriculture, food security, value chains etc.
∎ Experience conducting interviews and facilitating focus groups, workshops, and/or conferences
∎ Experience writing technical and planning documents in English
∎ Experience with private sector engagement, value chains, agribusinesses, and/or market systems development
∎ Experience working with Government of Bangladesh agencies
∎
∎ *Preferred Experience:*
∎ Experience with U.S.-government funded initiatives
∎ Experience conducting social science or economic research
∎ Experience developing strategic plans, logical frameworks, work plans, and/or other strategy documents in English
∎
∎ *Required Skills and Abilities:*
∎ Advanced knowledge of agricultural sector in Bangladesh, including familiarity with relevant government, private sector, and civil society groups
∎ Advanced knowledge of agriculture, food security, climate change and socio-economic policies in Bangladesh, particularly as related to investment, trade, and input and commodity markets.
∎ Knowledge of USAID/Bangladesh guiding documents and programming
∎ Ability to work collaboratively with remote and in-person counterparts
∎ Ability to gather, synthesize, and communicate information to technical and general audiences
∎ Fluent in English

Salary:
∎ Negotiable
∎ Consultant to be paid all-inclusive rate for services. Rate based on qualifications of candidate. Short-term consultant contract will be between 8-12 weeks, depending on availability and USAID mission needs.
