Responsibilities & Context: A financial controller is a senior level executive who oversees a business's day-to-day financial operations. Financial controllers run the accounting function and are responsible for the company’s books and records and will ensure that the company operates efficiently and profitably.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a business’s day-to-day financial operations
- Develop and manage the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Analyze financial data to assess profitability, cash flow, and other financial metrics related to production.
- Identify financial trends and advise management on cost reduction, profit maximization, and strategic planning.
- Monitor and balance cash flows into and out of a business to meet obligations and optimize investment.
- Creating and monitoring company policies and internal controls, especially spending controls, to safeguard company assets and reduce fraud.
- Oversee and manage the costing process, including the calculation of production costs, overhead allocation, and cost-per-unit.
- Ensure accurate cost accounting, controlling manufacturing costs and identifying areas for cost savings in the production process.
- Monitor inventory levels, including raw materials and finished goods, ensuring accurate inventory valuation.
- Prepare and manage budgets for production operations, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall financial objectives.
- Compare actual performance with budgeted forecasts and analyze variances to provide actionable insights.
- Administering loan agreements for company borrowings and collecting monies owed to the company from customers.
- Identify efficiencies and opportunities for cost reductions across the business.
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
- Any task assigned by Management.
