Job Context:
∎ Arannayk Foundation (AF), also known as the Bangladesh Tropical Forest Conservation Foundation, is a not-for-profit organization registered under the Bangladesh Companies Act 1994. It was established in 2003 through a joint initiative of the Government of Bangladesh and the Government of the USA. It provides grants and technical support to NGOs, universities, research organizations and other eligible entities for forest and biodiversity conservation activities including alternative livelihood development of forest-dependent communities. The AF also implements projects with funds/ grants from multiple donors. The head office of AF is located in Dhaka having project offices in Chittagong, Cox`s Bazar and Bandarban. The AF is governed by a seven-membered Board of Directors; one each from the US and Bangladesh Governments, and the remaining five representatives from civil society, research organizations academic institutions, and community organizations involved in forestry and environmental conservation, and development activities.

∎ AF intends to hire `Finance Assistant` to provide accounts and logistics support for its Landscape Modeling and Planning in CHT and other projects including general activities of AF as per following specifications:
∎ Appointment Type: Full Time Project Staff.
∎ Duration: Initially 1 (one) year and may be extended based on satisfactory performance and available fund and provisions.
∎ Job Location: This position will be based at the AF Headquarter in Dhaka with necessary field visits to project sites. You will be reportable to the Manager Finance & Admin who will provide guidance in planning, documentation, record keeping, reporting & any other financial advisory support required for execution of activities. You will be appointed by and evaluated on your performance by the Executive Director of AF.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The basic function of the position is to assist in managing the regular financial and administrative activities. The key responsibilities of this position will include but not be limited to -
∎ Assist in procuring goods/services and processing payments for staff salary, suppliers & contractors etc.;
∎ Assist in preparing vouchers with supporting documentations, deductions of Tax/VAT and deposit with Govt exchequer including management of TDS/VDS database;
∎ Assist in recording financial transactions, book keeping and financial reporting using the Grant Management Software (GMS) for filed level activities and also the central ERP system Tally;
∎ Arrange administrative and logistics support for training, meetings, workshops, field visits, etc.;
∎ Assist in preparing the monthly, half yearly and annual Tax & VAT returns and their submission to the respective authority of NBR;
∎ Assist in preparing the Joint Stock reports and their submissions to the RJSC authority;
∎ Ensure that Arannayk Foundation's and donors brand values are maintained to strengthen goodwill and credibility in line with organizational values, mission and vision;
∎ Update and maintain relevant electronic/hardcopy registers, formats and databases of AF as required;
∎ Assist in keeping administrative and financial records including documents, vouchers, registers, receipts etc. related to your activities in safe custody to comply with the audit requirements;
∎ Perform any other duties as assigned by the AF management team or any other tasks that shall be decided upon by the Executive Director in the best interest of the Arannayk Foundation;

Additional Requirements:
∎ The candidate should have at least 3 years of relevant experience in working with NGO/private organization/accounting firm.
∎ The candidate should have a proven track record of working with audit, Tax, VAT and RJSC authority.
∎ The candidate should be conversant in the use of common office software, especially Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation & Other Benefits:
∎ The gross monthly salary for the position will be BDT 25,000 - 30,000.
