Job Context:
∎ Sesame Workshop is looking for a Finance & Administration Advisor. This short-term consultancy will review current financial and administrative management policies, tools, and practices, make recommendations for improvements or efficiencies to current policies and practices, and to execute selected priority recommendations in collaboration with Bangladesh office of Sesame Workshop - a non-profit organization behind Sesame Street and Sisimpur in Bangladesh.
∎ Term: 30 days

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Review organizational policies, procedures, current practices, and internal and external audit findings related to financial management, administration, and compliance with USAID policies, regulations, and procedures. Determine challenges, gaps, and opportunities to strengthen across a multi-project and multi-donor portfolio.
∎ Identify key recommendations for strengthening policies, procedures, and practices including prioritization and timeline for resolving each key recommendation. Create an improvement plan in collaboration with our NY and Bangladesh office that incorporates recommendations, training, and updates/developments to policies and serves as roadmap the team can follow for continued action.
∎ Based on the Improvement Plan, develop a training plan and provide training and coaching to relevant staff to strengthen capacity to maintain new systems, policies, procedures and/or tools aligned to USAID requirements.

Additional Requirements:
∎ 10+ years of relevant and progressive responsibility in finance and accounting, project operations and compliance under USAID awards or contracts at the senior-level of an organization
∎ Deep knowledge and demonstrated experience applying USAID rules and regulations and aligning organizational policies, practices, and systems with those requirements.
∎ Demonstrated experience successfully managing USAID compliant financial reporting and accounting systems
∎ Demonstrated experience with organizational strengthening and systems improvement; ability to analyze current state and recommend practical solutions for systems strengthening.
∎ Track record in training and coaching staff to understand relevant regulations and apply them in day-to-day management to ensure compliance.
∎ Deep knowledge and demonstrated experience applying IFRS, IAS, and BAS rules and regulations and aligning organizational policies, practices, and systems with those requirements.
∎ Knowledge of accounting software specially Tally, SAP, and QuickBooks
∎ An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards
∎ Fluency in English required; Fluency in Bangla preferred.
