Job Context:
∎ The WASH Field Technician will provide support to the different hardware’s activities implementation of project area. The WASH Technician will assist the Facilitators/labors which involve repair and maintenance related activities, ensure the overall interventions are technically sound.
∎ The WASH Field Technician will report to the WASH Coordinator/WASH Engineer and work closely with Partners, vendors and labors. WASH Technician ensure quality of works, find out WASH related problems/complain from the users group and take action priority basis.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for coordinating Rohingya Facilitators, guiding Labors and other agencies technical persons
∎ To coordinate the operation, implementation, and monitoring of the WASH Infrastructure interventions within World Vision’s Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) program in the refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, with the goal to improve the public health of the target population.
∎ Prepare hardware’s report(s) weekly and monthly
∎ Assists WASH Coordinator/WASH Engineer to project activities implementation
∎ Supervision of the engineering works related to the project
∎ Timely address community complain regarding WASH facilities repair and maintenance
∎ Validate the accuracy of the data, and the quality of the WASH Infrastructure interventions.
∎ Be aware of emergency procedures in a response
∎ Provide technical WASH services and response programming, supporting
∎ Provide technical support on design, drawing & estimate of service and activities of the project.
∎ Provide technical support to ensure hardware’s intervention quality inclusive of regular monitoring
∎ All the implemented activities record keeping with necessary information
∎ Timely authentic report submission to the management
∎ Regularly follow up dislodging, SWM collection, repairing DTW, Latrine and bathing
∎ Capacity building of WASH Committee members and user groups
∎ Accessible for PWD regarding latrine, bathing and DTWs
∎ Promote new innovations and practices
∎ If needed prepare PR on the basis of field assessment
∎ Ensure procurement and spending is aligned with the technical needs of the program.
∎ Track and manage project budget lines.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Support logistics department for collect/ analyze market rate for ensuring value for money, for preparation of procurement schedule and rate analysis as per the received quotations
∎ Provide technical support and solution on difficulties of WASH infrastructure installation/ rehabilitation
∎ Support operational teams, contracted companies and communities, monitor the efficient use of resources provided (Support to brief the contractors and/or the mason group on technical specification; Provide technical briefing to the field staff for ensuring good quality of the work
∎ Develop drawing, design and BoQ of different water infrastructures (new and rehabilitation)
∎ Develop drawing, design and BoQ of different sanitation infrastructures (new and rehabilitation)
∎ Prepare Drawing, design and BoQ of CFW (Cash For Work) schemes
∎ Monitor the construction works on a regular basis to check and ensure good quality of materials and implementation
∎ Chittagong/Rohingya and Bengali language skills will add value. Very
∎ Decision making and conflict resolution skills
∎ Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation
∎ Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation
