Educational Requirements:
∎ Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forestry, Diploma in Forestry, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Agriculture, Diploma in Agriculture
∎ Bachelor's degree in agriculture/Forestry with minimum 3 years of practical/working experience in the relevant field or a Diploma in Forestry/Agriculture with at least 5 years of practical working experience with any reputed NGOs is required. However, Candidates with a very high level of potential with extensive skills and experiences could be waived from technical academic credentials.

Job Context:
∎ Arannayk Foundation thrives to promote the conservation and restoration of natural tropical forests, forest biodiversity, and natural resources of Bangladesh. The foundation was established in 2003 under a "debt-for-nature-swap provision made through an agreement signed between the Government of the Peoples Republic of Bangladesh and the Government of the United States. Since then, the foundation has provided financial and technical support to various local NGOs to implement more than a hundred projects that contributed to forest restoration, biodiversity conservation, and livelihood improvement of forest-dependent communities to reduce their dependence on forest resources for earning a living. The foundation is registered as a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee under Bangladesh Companies Act 1994 having no share capital.
∎ The foundation is, among others, implementing the GREEN LIFE (Greening the Environment through Livelihood Improvement and Forest Enrichment) Project since May 2020, in Ukhiya, Cox`s Bazar. The project is aiming at supporting the Forest Department in the protection and improvement management of the forest landscape under Sheikh Jamal Inani National Park, facilitating the development of alternative livelihoods for the forest-dependent communities, promoting alternative fuel solutions, and building local capacities to sustain the project outcomes.
∎ Arannayk Foundation is looking for young, energetic, and skilled incumbents for immediate appointment as Field Officers for the GREEN LIFE Project.
∎ The Field Officers will be responsible for the implementation of all project activities under his/her assigned area and provide technical and supervision support to Community Development Facilitators in the implementation of project interventions in the areas concerned. Essentially the incumbent should have both managerial and technical skills in the areas of community-led forest conservation, improved production and marketing of high-value crops agricultural production, and value chains for enhanced income, and facilitating WASH including behavior change communication and promoting climate change adaptation using locally led and nature-based solutions.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ To provide supervision and guidance to Community Development Facilitators (CDF) in the implementation of various project interventions in the assigned project areas.
∎ Conduct training needs assessment of the CDFs and develops their capacities accordingly to enable them to implement the project activities efficiently and effectively.
∎ Assist the CDFs in implementing activities related to climate change and its adaptation techniques, WASH, Value Chain, Private Sector Engagement, formation of Climate Change Adaptation Learning Center (CCLAC), formation of various youth-based groups and community groups, formation of an association of Local Service Providers (LSPs).
∎ Assist to raise awareness of communities in species and biodiversity conservation, natural resource management, climate change adaptation, gender sensitivity, SMART Patrolling, Climate, WASH, Organization Development Management, Forest Conservation, Value Chain, fuel-efficient cookers, and cookware, etc. through facilitation of community awareness sessions.
∎ Facilitate implementation of SMART Patrolling for evidence-based and efficient protection of the forest and biodiversity.
∎ With the support from Private Sector Engagement Officer, S/he will facilitate the development of backward and forward market linkages between the beneficiaries and the market actors for value chain implementation of poultry and high-value horticultural crops.
∎ Facilitate the formation of a Youth Environment Squad with selected young and enthusiastic volunteers from the respective communities and Student Environment Brigade in the selected schools and provide capacity-building support to engage them in the environmental and conservation initiatives of the project.
∎ With the assistance of CDF, selecting appropriate sites/ individuals/ households for establishing Climate Change Adaptation Center, individual and community-based water facilities, sanitary toilets, watersheds, deep tube well, solar power electric systems, etc.
∎ Facilitating the transformation of the savings and loan groups into village development organizations (VDOs) through the operation of participatory savings schemes and revolving loan funds by the project participants.
∎ Monitoring implementation of all activities being implemented in the field and providing hands-on/on-the-job support to CDFs for improvement of performance.
∎ Prepare and submit monthly activity plan and monthly activity report.
∎ Should spend around 80% of time in field.

∎ Age at most 35 years
∎ Practical working experience relevant to the "key duties and responsibilities" mentioned above is extremely required for this position. Only candidates having those experiences are encouraged to apply.
∎ Excellent facilitation and communication skills are a must to have qualified for the successful candidate.
∎ Should be a good team player
∎ Subject to fulfillment of other criteria as mentioned above, women and candidates having language skills in the local dialect of Cox's Bazar will be given higher preference.
∎ Ability to drive a motorcycle and having a valid driving license is non-negotiable requirement.

Salary: Tk. 40000 - 44000 (Monthly)
