Project Brief: World Food Programme assisted school feeding programme, funding through United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) McGovern-Dole FY24 award aims to improve child nutrition, education, and health outcomes in Bangladesh . The programme will be implemented for five years, from October 2024 to September 2029. The programme will directly support 31,936 pre-primary and primary school children in 149 Government Primary Schools in Madhabpur upazila of Habiganj district, while providing technical assistance in Ukhiya and Kutubdia upazilas of Cox’s Bazar district to continue the best practices achieved under USDA McGovern-Dole FY17 and FY20. The Programme also will provide capacity-strengthening support to the Government for upcoming Government Primary School Feeding Programme. The key activities under the programme include providing nutritious school meals, developing instructional materials, strengthening education system capacities, building and rehabilitating WASH facilities, supporting nutrition education, establishing school gardens, enhancing smallholder farmer production and market access, and enabling national and sub-national governance structures. The Programme will be implemented in collaboration with key partners, including CNRS, RtR, and FAO, to ensure sustainability, evidence generation, and effective coordination across sectors.
Under the guidance of WFP, CNRS will ensure food distribution, improved Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities, and health education in targeted schools. CNRS will also focuses on capacity building, community engagement, and promoting sustainable practices.
Part I: Job Statement
CNRS, in partnership with WFP, is implementing the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program in Madhabpur Upazila, Habiganj District to improve child nutrition, school attendance, and learning outcomes. The program involves the regular distribution of fortified biscuits and fresh food items to targeted schools. The Field Facilitator plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day implementation at the school and community level, ensuring smooth operations, safeguarding compliance, and community engagement.
The Field Facilitator will be responsible for supporting school-level food distribution, mobilizing community stakeholders, and ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to inclusive and transparent program delivery.
Part II: Job Responsibilities and Tasks
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate daily food distribution at assigned schools, ensuring adherence to WFP protocols (e.g., FEFO, hygiene, safeguarding)
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, distribution logs, and stock balances
• Support school authorities in implementing food safety and storage guidelines
• Mobilize School Management Committees (SMCs), caregivers, and community leaders to promote program ownership
• Collect and submit data using approved formats and digital tools (e.g., Kobo, Excel)
• Report any irregularities, delays, or safeguarding concerns to the Project Manager immediately
• Assist in organizing school-level awareness sessions on nutrition, hygiene, and child protection
• Participate in training sessions and coordination meetings as required
• Ensure visibility of CNRS and WFP branding at distribution points
• Uphold CNRS’s values of inclusion, accountability, and transparency in all field interactions
Key Deliverables:
• Daily distribution records and attendance sheets submitted accurately
• Weekly field reports highlighting progress, challenges, and community feedback
• Verified stock balances and food safety compliance at school level
• Active engagement of SMCs and caregivers in program activities
• Timely reporting of incidents and safeguarding concerns
Salary: BDT 40,360 per month all inclusive
