Job Context:
∎ Women`s Protection Support for Myanmar Refugees and Host Communities in Cox`s Bazar, Bangladesh.
∎ Demonstrating the technical and civil engineering expertise to improve the WASH Services for Rohingya Refugees and Host Communities in Cox`s Bazar. The incumbent is responsible for the delivery and management of technical expertise, ensuring high quality and timely inputs, and for ensuring standard of project activities and its strategic vision for attaining project objectives and goals result in the achievement of its intended outputs in a cost effective and timely manner. S/he will be responsible for supervising the WaSH related construction/repairing works maintaining close collaboration with respective project staffs through planning, implementing and managing the delivery of policies, reports, knowledge of services and other results approved in the project document or work plans. S/he will also closely work with operations unit at Teknaf, WaSH cluster, relevant government officials, private sector, non-government and civil society organizations as required.
∎ The duration of the contract will be until December 31, 2022.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for preparing the overall planning, budgeting, implementation and monitoring of construction and repairing work of the project;
∎ Responsible for the overall field activity monitoring and effective implementation of WaSH activities as per plan;
∎ Assist in drawing, design, and construction or rehabilitation of different types of WASH and protection related facilities;
∎ Technical supervision and cross-checking of relevant hardware construction materials before installation with specifications, drawing, design quality and quantity in collaboration with field staff;
∎ Regular field visit to the project areas for close monitoring and verify the quality and quantities of relevant activities;
∎ Monitoring and supervision of latrine, bathing cubicle and street solar lamp installation and repairing works;
∎ Responsible for feasibility survey, design, prepare the estimation of quantities and cost detailed drawings and other necessary documents of relevant construction and repairing works;
∎ Maintain up-to-date records of all technical issues at field level activities to show a status of the work, the status of construction materials, equipment at store and construction site;
∎ Ensure project resources are used properly and in case of any misuse or incorrect doing, bring it to the attention of management immediately;
∎ Attend various internal and external meetings regarding engineering topics or issues and respond to questions and inquiries from various individuals, groups and organizations regarding relevant engineering issues;
∎ Monitor and verify contractors work and provide report to project management;
∎ Follow up activities in the field of WaSH/protection facilities in relation to capacity building of beneficiaries;
∎ Conduct OnM related training for the user's groups/community people, keeping record and preparing training report;
∎ Uphold humanitarian code of conduct and adhere to and promote humanitarian guiding principles;
∎ Comply with NGO Forum for Public Health's policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, gender & equality, humanitarian responsiveness and other relevant policies;
∎ Perform other official tasks, as and when required, for the greater interest of the project/organization;
∎ Follow and maintain the disciplines properly as mentioned in the Service Rules of NGO Forum;
∎ Work in true-spirit of teamwork and preserve personal integrity and respecting the organizational hierarchy of accountability;
∎ Perform any other related duties or responsibilities that may be assigned by the project management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Fair knowledge on Rohingya Refugee context including WaSH in emergency/humanitarian situation. Having fair knowledge on using civil design related software, report writing, ability work independently or limited supervision and good communication skill. Hard working, work under pressure in humanitarian response context, positive and can do attitude.
Salary: Tk. 35000 (Monthly)
