MikroTik RouterOS: Routing, bandwidth management (Simple/Tree Queues), Firewall/NAT, IPsec VPNs, VLAN trunking (Bridge VLAN filtering), and BGP/OSPF implementation.
Juniper Junos OS: EX/QFX Switches and MX/SRX Routers. Expert in Junos hierarchy, commit/rollback, Routing Instances (VRFs), BGP policies, VLANs (IRB interfaces), and L2/L3 security.
Huawei VRP: S-series switches and AR/NE routers. Expertise in VRP CLI, VLAN/Trunking (Port Link-Type), Eth-Trunk aggregation, OSPF/BGP, VRRP high availability, and ACLs.
Responsibilities & Context:
The System Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, maintaining, and securing the hospital's ICT infrastructure. This role directly supports clinical operations by ensuring 24/7 uptime for core systems (HIS/EHR, PACS, LIS), safeguarding patient data, and optimizing system performance.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Management: Maintain physical and virtual servers, enterprise storage (SAN/NAS), data backup systems, and high-availability virtualization clusters (VMware, Hyper-V).
Healthcare Systems Support: Manage core hospital applications including Hospital Information Systems (HIS), Electronic Health Records (EHR), Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS), and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS).
Network & Systems Integration: Configure and support HL7, DICOM, and API integrations between medical devices, diagnostic systems, and central clinical databases.
Data Security & Compliance: Enforce enterprise cybersecurity policies, maintain role-based access control, and ensure system adherence to healthcare data privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA, ISO 27001, local health data privacy regulations).
Disaster Recovery & Uptime: Oversee automated system backups, regularly test Disaster Recovery (DR) and business continuity plans, and maintain high availability across critical clinical nodes.
Performance Monitoring: Proactively monitor server health, storage utilization, and network traffic using enterprise monitoring tools to resolve bottlenecks before they impact clinical care.
