Additional Requirements:
  • Experience in chemical engineering, power generation, and plant construction monitoring is preferred.
  • Previous ecperience as Chemist in a Power Plant will get preference.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure with accuracy.


Responsibilities & Context:

Job Purpose:

To ensure efficient chemical analysis and treatment of water and oil systems in the power generation process, maintaining equipment reliability, environmental compliance, and operational excellence.


Key Job Responsibilities:

Analytical & Laboratory Operations

  • Prepare various analytical reagents, indicators, and solutions necessary for testing.

  • Perform chemical analysis on different water samples (WTP, boiler feed water, engine cooling water, steam, etc.) based on required parameters.

  • Conduct water content analysis of HFO and Lube Oil as per ASTM methods.

  • Ensure timely calibration and maintenance of laboratory instruments and equipment.

  • Maintain soft and hard copies of all analytical testing reports.

Chemical Treatment & Dosing

  • Ensure appropriate chemical dosing into RO, DM, boiler feed water, deaerator, cooling towers, and engine cooling systems.

  • Maintain water chemistry within manufacturer-recommended parameters using proper dosing methods.

  • Monitor and ensure efficiency of ion exchange resin, RO membrane CIP, and EDI operations.

Supervision & Coordination

  • Supervise lab assistants and ensure proper sampling, chemical handling, and safe practices.

  • Provide technical guidance to operations, boiler, turbine, and maintenance teams regarding water chemistry, dosing schedules, and flushing intervals.

  • Raise chemical requisitions, ensure chemical inventory availability, and track chemical usage.

  • Coordinate with interdepartmental teams to ensure smooth operation and timely reporting.

Compliance & Safety

  • Maintain strict adherence to laboratory safety, health guidelines, and housekeeping standards.

  • Ensure safe storage, handling, and disposal of chemicals.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Prepare and submit daily, monthly, scheduled, and unscheduled analysis reports.

  • Maintain detailed records for audits, performance tracking, and continuous improvement.
