• Report Writing on WASH program
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in school or community-based WASH projects with NGOs or development organizations.
• Practical experience in construction, repair, and maintenance of school water and sanitation infrastructure.
• Skilled in project implementation, budget management, reporting and field supervision.
• Strong communication skills in both English and local language.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team with good time management and interpersonal skills.
• Innovative and skilled in problem-solving.

AVAS, with the support of Plan International Bangladesh, is implementing the Sponsorship Program to improve the lives of children in the coastal regions of Bangladesh, particularly in Bhola Sadar sub-district under Bhola District.

To strengthen this initiative, AVAS is seeking a competent and motivated WASH Engineer to support School WASH program implementation with a strong focus on child protection. The Program Manager will ensure that all activities are carried out effectively and in full alignment with the project’s goals and objectives.

Position Summary:

The incumbent will be responsible for implementing and supervising school-based Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) activities under the Sponsorship Program in AVAS Bhola. The role involves providing technical support for improving and maintaining school WASH infrastructure, promoting hygiene practices, and fostering behavioral change among students.

 Key Responsibilities:

1. Program Implementation and Coordination:

• Implement and ensure quality of School WASH activities at the field level.
• Engage schools and communities in WASH facility rehabilitation.
• Supervise water quality, construction works, and other technical aspects.
• Identify and implement appropriate School WASH technologies and assess their effectiveness.
• Conduct area-based environmental surveys.

 2. Capacity Building:

• Develop operational and technical guidelines and training modules for School WASH activities.
• Support capacity development of field and technical staff.

 3. Stakeholder Coordination:

• Establish effective relationships with school management committees, local leadership, and partners.
• Coordinate with other program teams to ensure smooth progress of activities.

 4. Monitoring and Supervision:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies during construction works.
• Conduct field visits, follow-ups, and document lessons learned.
• Support in preparing plans, budgets, and progress reports.

 5. Advocacy and Networking:

• Promote safe water and sanitation practices at school and community levels.
• Maintain effective coordination with donors and partner organizations.

 6. Reporting and Documentation:

• Prepare field visit, progress, and technical reports.
• Document project reports and success stories.

7. Other Responsibilities:

• Perform any other relevant tasks as assigned by the management.
• Implement emergency-related activities as directed by the organization.
