Job Responsibilities
Designation: Project Officer (Capacity Building)
Key responsibilities:
Taking effective steps to implement the activities in the assigned work area to implement the goals and objectives of the project;
The Project Officer- Capacity Building will provide leadership and guide the successful implementation of interventions in the project being implemented in the Sundarbans and Hakaluki areas of Bangladesh. The Project Officer- Capacity Building will ensure the effective and efficient community mobilization, implementation, monitoring and reporting of interventions directly and services by targeted households in assigned operational areas.
Facilitate adoption of best practices/approaches/models in the course of the implementation of the WASH, Environment and biodiversity.
Participate in the preparation of the overall work plan and budget for WASH, Climate Change and Biodiversity & Environment-friendly WASH Entrepreneurship activities and technical support for this activity
Collaborate with relevant government sectors and partners at the city and community levels to ensure integration and high-level implementation of all Climate friendly WASH activities.
Make technical input into the planning and design of project-specific operational research, including baseline and end-line evaluation related to WASH and Project outcomes.
Work closely with the project team in the identification of existing gaps in the WASH.
Work together with the other consortia staff to ensure that key training meets the standards required to facilitate, and provide knowledge and reinforcement of desired behaviour and practices.
Provide technical support and timely feedback to the Project team on WASH interventions outlined in the project proposal.
Build capacity of field staff, project ToTs and partners (CBOs) on WASH and Climate Smart Technologies.
Identify other opportunities in an ongoing manner that will add value to the overarching goal of the program.
Track and prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual progress reports of activities related to WASH key indicators; including documentation of key lessons learnt and success stories Contribute to the development and dissemination of publications for learning.
Ensure cross-cutting themes such as gender, disability, and environmental protection are integrated into the program interventions Ensure integration of WASH interventions with other Child protection interventions as appropriate
Mobilize and sensitize the community for empowerment & sustainability Build the capacity of communities and partners on integration for synergy & Community-based monitoring for sustainability.
Establish specific capacity building for effective delivery & sustainability of project interventions
Take a lead in building program staff and community capacities in WASH interventions through training and other information-sharing avenues (field days, demonstrations) to handle project activities effectively Together with consortia, conduct regular extension service provision for participating groups and households
Trained project beneficiaries with adequate capacity to engage in sustainable WASH initiatives Establish and sustain working relationships with Government Departments and Agencies relevant to the project focus area at the local level
programmatic cooperation with other managers, colleagues and other team members in order to create and use project-internal synergies;
Participating in monthly meetings and preparing field level activity reports at the end of the month
Understands and obey the principles of DSK like PSEA, GBV, Child Protection, Code of Conduct, Finance & Procurement etc.
In case of involvement in any form of sexual misconduct (sexual exploitation, sexual harassment and sexual abuse/harassment), the organization will take disciplinary action as per employment rules, adopting zero tolerance policy.
