∎ The CIPRB - Centre for Injury Prevention and Research, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh, is a national level health research organization, mandated to combat and prevent mortality and morbidity and thereby promoting quality of life in Bangladesh and beyond. In cooperation with Goethe-University Frankfurt (GU) and the Institute for Social-Ecological Research (ISOE) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, CIPRB invites applications for a Doctoral Research Position
∎ Full-time-position, 3 years, start of employment 01/10/2020
∎ In the international research project "FlutNetz". FlutNetz is a collaborative project between academic, government and NGO partners in Bangladesh and Germany. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany (BMBF). The project aims at `Improving access to healthcare for emergency medicine conditions in flood disasters in Bangladesh`
∎ The doctoral research position is available in the sub-project "Gender aspects of flood events in Bangladesh"

Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience in quantitative and qualitative social-empirical analysis (focus group discussions, expert interviews, standardized surveys)
∎ Expertise in gender studies
∎ Capacity to communicate effectively with diverse population groups including disaster-affected rural people and political decision-makers
∎ Ambitious, self-motivated working style; high capacity to work individually and in a team
∎ Willingness to engage in field research in northern Bangladesh under challenging environmental and logistic conditions (as soon as flood and pandemic conditions allow)
∎ Excellent scientific writing skills (English) and excellent general communication skills (Bangla, English); command of dialects or languages spoken in northern Bangladesh (e.g., Gaibandha, Kurigram, Jamalpur districts) is an asset

Salary:
∎ Salary according to CIPRB`s pay structure (grade 8)
