Job Responsibilities:
∎ PURPOSE:
∎ To define, budget, trial and manage a George GMC in Bangladesh that delivers cost savings and a world class supply base through a new streamlined WOW for George UK and the George customer.
∎ To build, develop, train and lead a world class team that executes the George UK team's requirements and delivers right first time critical path execution to ensure quality, style and value is delivered to the customer on time.
∎ KEY STRATEGIC ACCOUNTABILITIES:
∎ To manage the new WOW and maximise leverage opportunities across both the George and Wal-Mart GMC objectives.
∎ Deliver existing and new world class strategic supply partners by developing their product capabilities in line with George's requirements.
∎ To ensure proactive development and production consistency across factories, mills, products and sub brands
∎ Work with the UK teams to drive innovation, creativity and consistency whilst also focusing the team on the day to day issues
∎ Deliver an office WOW and service that is a benchmark for other George ICO's and is a centre of excellence within Walmart Sourcing.
∎ Through training and guidance work towards achieving your personal development plan.
∎ KEY OPERATIONAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
∎ To ensure the George WOW (way of working), culture, systems & processes are reflected in the overseas GMC.
∎ To develop an excellent working partnership and understanding with George Colleagues & supplier base through regular communication and updates
∎ Communicate department and business strategies to the team.
∎ Engender an EDLC philosophy across the team and deliver the project on time and to budget.
∎ Proactively identify issues and manage their solution.
∎ WHAT ELSE I GET INVOLVED IN
∎ Attendance to all Company Huddles / Dept Huddles
∎ Plan your national and international travel in conjunction with the UK teams
∎ Cultural induction for both expats and locals to ensure best understanding and teamwork
∎ Succession planning and PAR discussions within the George ICO team, across the Walmart GMC and across the UK relevant teams.
∎ Managing the set up and integration of the George team within the Wal-Mart building
∎ Awareness of new legislation and health & safety standards/amendments
∎ Non compliance claims
∎ KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
∎ Product:
∎ Achieve savings of £5.4m with the UK Sourcing team through leveraging, open costings and improved supplier efficiency across 2010/11.
∎ Deliver 3 week lead time saving for the UK through improved sampling, in country approvals and reduced DC rejections.
∎ Ensure selection samples that are submitted meet the KPI requirements and true to the design pack plus the George handwriting.
∎ Improve hit rate on design sampling to 70% and black seals to 85%
∎ Ensure open costings submitted use nominated sources and are challenged, accurate and right first time.
∎ Ensure the critical path process is completed accurately, on time and quality metrics achieved through your team to ensure products leave on time and approved for quality
∎ Availability:
∎ Ensure the UK sourcing team are reported to monthly on supplier performance (especially the Top15), capacity management and opportunities, country intelligence and economic movements to enable development of the supplier matrix.
∎ Work closely with the Walmart ES team and the ICO team to understand and develop the ethical status of every factory and mill and ensure through working with the UK sourcing team that their business levels reflect their ethical commitment.
∎ Conversion:
∎ Ensure all capacity required by the UK Sourcing team is secured, planned and executed by suppliers and exceptions reported to the UK
∎ Ensure all new and existing factories and mills have technical assessments.
∎ Team Work:
∎ WLS 90%
∎ All colleagues to develop & drive their own PDP
∎ Labour turnover of
∎ Retain and develop individuals through strong leadership and career development, clear succession planning, and monthly 1:1s for all direct reports.
∎ Act on LCS feedback.

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 12 years cross functional experience at working directly with clothing suppliers and retailers
∎ Customer focused
∎ Strong team leadership and coaching skills, able to manage under and over performers.
