Education:

    • Bachelor of Science (BSc)
  • Bachelors or Master's degree in Science / Nursing / Nutrition / or a related field. Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification is highly desirable.

  • Registered individuals in BADAS LFAC and CDIC Programs will be given preference

Responsibilities & Context:

In order to strengthen the capacity of Healthcare, one incumbent will be appointed for each Type-1 Diabetic Corner/Centre in Rajshahi & Faridpur.

Job Description:

Overview: The Diabetes Educator will play a crucial role in counseling pediatric diabetes patients and their caregivers while also assisting the physician with history taking. Additionally, the role involves ensuring accurate data collection, including patient information, insulin administration, glucose levels, HbA1c, and monitoring hypo and hyperglycemic incidents. The position requires meticulous data preservation, managing patient records, tracking follow-up appointments, and reporting regularly to the organization's authority.

Responsibilities:
Patient and Caregiver Counseling:

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to pediatric diabetes patients and their caregivers, focusing on diabetes management, insulin injections, standard glucose levels etc.

Assist Physician with History Taking:

  • Collaborate closely with the physician to gather detailed medical histories and assessments of pediatric diabetes patients during consultations.

Data Collection and Preservation:

  • Accurately record patient data, collect it, and preserve the information.

  • Monitor patient follow-up, track missed appointments, and document dropouts.

  • Fill annual sheets with patient information, treatment plans, and progress notes.

Reporting and Communication:

  • Prepare regular reports detailing patient outcomes, follow-up status, dropout rates, and missed appointments.
