  • Candidates must have experience in SCM in the pharmaceutical sector.

  • Candidates must have hands-on experience in procurement, international sourcing, import operations, LC management, inventory planning, and supplier coordination.



Responsibilities & Context:
  • Lead and oversee international sourcing and procurement activities for pharmaceutical products, raw materials, and related items.

  • Identify, evaluate, and maintain strong relationships with international suppliers, manufacturers, and business partners.

  • Coordinate with Commercial, Finance, Regulatory Affairs, QA, Warehouse, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth execution of international business transactions.

  • Review and ensure accuracy of Preform Invoices (PI), Purchase Orders (PO), LC documents, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipping documents.

  • Monitor the complete import cycle, from order placement and LC opening through shipment, customs clearance, and final delivery.

  • Coordinate with banks, C&F agents, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and other stakeholders to ensure timely clearance and delivery.

  • Negotiate with international suppliers regarding price, payment terms, lead time, shipment schedules, product availability, and commercial conditions.

  • Monitor international market trends, supplier performance, pricing, and availability to support cost-effective sourcing decisions.

  • Ensure all international procurement activities comply with company policies, applicable pharmaceutical regulations, import requirements, and international trade practices.

  • Maintain proper documentation and records related to imports, LC transactions, supplier communications, shipments, and commercial settlements.

  • Monitor shipment schedules and proactively resolve issues related to delays, documentation discrepancies, payment, shipment, or customs clearance.

  • Develop and maintain an effective international supplier network to ensure business continuity and reliable product sourcing.

  • Prepare periodic MIS reports, procurement analysis, supplier performance reports, LC status reports, and management updates.

  • Analyse procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization, improved payment terms, and operational efficiency.

  • Work closely with senior management to develop and execute international sourcing and business strategies.

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to achieve departmental objectives and maintain high professional standards.

  • Demonstrate strong ownership, accountability, commercial awareness, negotiation skills, and decision-making ability while working under pressure and meeting critical deadlines.
