Additional Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Civil Construction, Structural Design, BOQ preparation, and Construction Budgeting, with preference for candidates having experience in auditing or monitoring construction works.
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, ETABS, and MS Office.
  • Knowledge of national and international building codes such as BNBC, ACI, IS, BS, ASTM, and AISC, as well as structural drawings, risk management, finance, accounts, and compliance.

Job Purpose

This role will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and compliance of construction practices within the organization. S/he will be responsible for conducting audits of construction projects across Bangladesh and evaluating adherence to established standards, regulations, and best practices. This is a Contractual position initially for one year.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk-based audits as per the monthly audit schedule for BRAC’s construction projects to ensure compliance and operational effectiveness.
  • Lead audit teams during critical assignments at both field and head office levels, providing constructive, business-focused audit observations.
  • Review project commencement processes including work requisitions, budget approvals, manpower allocation, mobilization, and work planning.
  • Assess requisitions from project sites against approved material estimations to ensure accuracy and justification of requirements.
  • Review project office readiness and control measures related to the supply and delivery of materials.
  • Evaluate quality and quantity control mechanisms to ensure materials meet approved standards post-delivery.
  • Verify timely material supply and ensure completeness and accuracy of related supply documentation.
  • Review adequacy of safety practices and ensure construction personnel are protected from harm, abuse, neglect, and harassment.
  • Examine construction records across various sites to confirm proper inspection and documentation by relevant stakeholders.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify adherence to design drawings, specifications, and applicable construction codes.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality audit reporting in line with internal standards, maintaining appropriate documentation for all audit findings.
  • Drive field-level risk assessments under the organization’s risk management framework, coordinate with divisions and departments for annual audit plan implementation, and assist in preparing documents for Internal Audit Review Management Committee Meetings.
  • Provide coaching and on-the-job training to junior audit staff, promote knowledge sharing, and continuously update audit programs based on management expectations and evolving risks.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
  • Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
  • Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
