Responsibilities & Context: - Supervise the Factory Accounts Team and monitor day-to-day accounting activities to ensure accuracy and timely completion of assigned tasks.
- Ensure proper accounting of factory transactions including production expenses, overheads, utilities, maintenance, and stores consumption.
- Participate in development and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls within the factory and related departments.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial, cost, and management reports as required by factory management and Head Office.
- Review and verify factory payroll, overtime, incentives, allowances, and full & final settlements of factory employees.
- Check and approve factory bills, vouchers, gate passes, and supporting documents in line with company policies.
- Manage provident fund related calculations and payments including factory employees’ settlements and loans.
- Prepare annual factory budgets in coordination with production, engineering, and other support departments.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual factory financial statements and submit to Head Office/Group Accounts.
- Analyze production cost variances and prepare budget variance reports with explanations and corrective action plans.
- Ensure timely preparation and deposit of TDS, VDS, and other statutory payments related to factory operations.
- Conduct and supervise monthly physical inventory counts of raw materials, WIP, finished goods, spare parts, and stores.
- Reconcile physical inventory with stock records and investigate variances in coordination with store and production teams.
- Monitor compliance with the factory financial reporting calendar and ensure timely submission of required reports.
- Review and reconcile factory bank accounts and resolve reconciling items on a regular basis.
- Verify factory financial reports prior to submission to Group Accounts and respond to queries as required.
- Prepare feasibility studies and investment appraisals for factory CAPEX, machinery, and infrastructure projects.
- Visit factory sections, warehouses, and depots to verify financial records, inventory movement, and operational controls.
- Prepare financial statements and projections required for bank facilities, LC limits, and factory financing purposes.
- Prepare Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) financial statements for factory operations.
- Draft office memos related to factory finance, compliance, and operational matters.
- Prepare responses to Internal Audit observations related to factory accounts and implement corrective actions.
- Perform additional tasks and special assignments assigned by the Head of Accounts, Factory Management, and Group Accounts.
