Bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering / Apparel Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering or a relevant discipline. Strong technical and production experience in woven apparel manufacturing is essential.

To lead and control the overall production operations of UKDL Woven, ensuring smooth and efficient execution from Cutting through Sewing, Finishing and Packing while achieving production targets, productivity, quality standards, cost objectives and on-time shipment commitments. The incumbent will maximize production capacity, optimize manpower and machinery utilization, reduce wastage and operational losses, and develop a strong production team in line with management objectives and international buyer requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Overall Production Management — Lead and monitor overall woven production from Cutting to Finishing and Packing; ensure targets, smooth flow, capacity and 4M utilization.
Production Planning & Execution — Work closely with Planning on realistic production plans, line loading, line balancing, capacity utilization and cross-functional coordination.
Productivity & Efficiency — Drive efficiency, productivity and capacity improvement; monitor Efficiency %, Output, DHU, WIP, Target vs. Achievement and Downtime; apply Lean, 5S and Kaizen.
Cutting Management — Ensure cutting follows approved markers, patterns and production requirements; control fabric utilization and cutting wastage; ensure timely feeding.
Sewing Production — Ensure sewing-line targets, balancing, manpower allocation, machine/attachment utilization and corrective action on low-performing lines.
Finishing & Packing — Ensure finishing output, rework, alteration and rejection are controlled and finished goods meet buyer requirements and shipment schedules.
Quality Management — Work with QA/QC to achieve FTR; control DHU, defects, rework and rejection and implement corrective/preventive actions.
Cost & Wastage Control — Control manpower, machinery and material costs; minimize fabric wastage, rework, rejection, overtime, idle time and other losses.
Manpower & Team Leadership — Lead, motivate and develop production teams; set KPIs; strengthen supervisors, line chiefs and middle management.
Maintenance & Technical Coordination — Coordinate with Maintenance, IE and Technical teams to maximize machine availability and support improved methods and automation.
Shipment & Delivery — Align production with T&A and shipment deadlines; monitor order status, escalate risks and prepare recovery plans.
Compliance, Safety & Housekeeping — Ensure company, safety, labour-law, 5S, housekeeping and buyer-standard compliance.
Reporting & Management Information — Prepare production reports, present KPIs, analyze data and immediately report major risks and delays.
Continuous Improvement — Identify productivity, process optimization and cost-reduction opportunities; promote problem-solving and benchmark against best practices.
Candidate Profile / Requirements:
Minimum 12–15 years of progressive experience in woven garment production, preferably in a reputed export-oriented RMG factory, with strong DGM-level leadership exposure.
Strong hands-on knowledge of woven garment manufacturing from Cutting, Sewing and Finishing through Packing and shipment readiness.
Proven expertise in production planning, line balancing, capacity management, productivity, SMV, efficiency, WIP and 4M management.
Strong understanding of quality systems, DHU, FTR, defect control, rework, alteration and root-cause analysis.
Demonstrated experience managing large production teams, multiple sewing lines and cross-functional operations.
Strong commercial awareness and proven ability to control fabric wastage, overtime, idle time, rework and operational losses.
Knowledge and practical application of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen and continuous improvement.
Strong leadership, communication, decision-making and crisis-management skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage tight T&A and shipment commitments.
Proficiency in production reporting, MS Office/Excel and ERP/factory production systems.
Experience with international buyers and export-oriented factory standards will be highly preferred.
