Job Context:
∎ The Deputy Gender Based Violence (GBV) Sector Lead will provide the technical support to the implementation of cross-sectorial activities. The Deputy GBV Sector Lead will help ensure that interventions are technically sound, take into account best practices, and particularly are appropriately meeting the needs of adolescent boys and men in the targeted Rohingya camps and surrounding host community in Cox’s Bazar district.
∎ The Deputy GBV Advisor will report to the GBV Sector Lead, working closely with all other Sector Leads and Project Managers to ensure the elements of their programs that align with GBV plan. In particular, the Deputy Gender Based Violence Advisor will lead the implementation of World Vision’s “MenCare” approach and more broadly, engagement with men and boys for the purpose of reducing GBV and violence against children.

Job Responsibilities:
∎ Support mainstreaming of men and boys’ protection engagement across all sectors
∎ Provide technical support on the design and implementation of services and activities for GBV, with particular regard to the boys and men and their role in GBV prevention through training and monitoring. This is inclusive of regular technical monitoring of case management and PSS services under the program, including WV’s MenCare Approach and coffee corners activity model.
∎ Build capacity of WV staff and local partners to ensure a reliable M&E system for better GBV data management, and ethical GBV data collection and information management
∎ Develop and conduct / facilitate trainings for partners and WV staff/facilitators on MenCare approach, and other relevant GBV topics such as GBV Core concepts, PSS, PFA, case management and caring for child survivors.
∎ Ensure field concerns and challenges are brought to relevant stakeholders to push for standards and procedures that systematize how GBV is implemented and coordinated at the field level.
∎ Work closely with refugee and host community members and leaders to better understand the roles of boys and men in shaping protection and nutritional outcomes for women and girls in their households.
∎ Perform other duties as required

Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 5 years of practical experience in humanitarian related work.
∎ At least 1 year of contextual experience and familiarity with the Rohingya and host community response in Southern Bangladesh.
∎ Excellent English and Bengali written and verbal communication skills.
∎ Demonstrated leadership, people management, coaching, mentoring, and team building skills.
∎ Strong problem identification, analytical and solving skills.
∎ Strong competency in proposal & report writing, monitoring and budgeting skills.
∎ Experience working with communities and local governments, INGOs, donors and other key internal and external stakeholders.
∎ Demonstrated ability to meet strict deadlines and work independently and cooperatively with team members in a cross-cultural environment.
∎ Demonstrates cross-cultural sensitivity, flexible worldview, emotional maturity and physical stamina. Ability to exhibit exemplary lifestyle as interpreted in specific local cultural context.
∎ Ability to live and work in difficult remote areas and travel extensively.
∎ Ability to maintain performance despite intense workload and work pace.

∎ Technical Skills & Abilities: Computer skills, working knowledge of programs/projects cycle management, ability to maintain effective working relationships with all staff and other key partners and good planning and organizational skills.
∎ Travel: 10 % Domestic/international travel may be required.
∎ On call: 10%
∎ Financial and program management skills
∎ Willingness to travel and work extensively - sometimes at short notice, in difficult places and under long hours - according to a results-based approach
