Experience:

Bachelor of Architecture from any recognized university/ institution. Masters will be preferred.

• At least 15 years

• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other architectural design tools (e.g., 3D, SketchUp, Revit/BIM, and Adobe tools).

• Strong leadership, communication, and team coordination & management skills.

• Effective time management and organizational skills.

• Expertise in architectural design and project management.

• In-depth knowledge of local and international building codes, sustainability standards, and value engineering principles.

• Strong technical detailing and material knowledge.

• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and manage deadlines effectively.

• Field adaptability and client communication.

• Understanding of social development, sustainability and inclusive design.

• Minimum 15 years of work experience in architectural design and construction documentation. Registered member of IAB, with enlistment at RAJUK and other relevant regulatory authorities authorized to sign architectural drawings.

Job Purpose

To lead and oversee the full architectural design process—from concept to completion—delivering innovative, functional, sustainable, and regulation-compliant solutions that align with client goals and organizational values. The role ensures design excellence, safety, inclusivity, and climate resilience while integrating multidisciplinary inputs, optimizing resources, and enabling seamless execution. It also cultivates team development and collaboration, upholding strong documentation practices, effective stakeholder engagement, and timely project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with client programmes and stakeholders to thoroughly understand project objectives, functional requirements, and design aspirations.

• Coordinate and manage design presentations and approvals, ensuring clear communication and continuous client satisfaction throughout the design cycle.

• Lead the full design process from concept to construction, delivering innovative, functional, and contextually responsive design solutions.

• Ensure compliance with BNBC, PWD specifications, sustainability, and organizational standards.

• Oversee the preparation of detailed, accurate construction drawings and documentation.

• Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all design-related materials, including drawings, specifications, reports, and project data, for reference and regulatory compliance.

• Conduct site visits and surveys to assess context and constraints.

• Provide design support during construction, including site visits, inspections, and collaboration with the execution team to ensure adherence to design intent.

• Integrate architectural and structural designs with MEP services.

• Ensure coordinated, buildable drawings for seamless execution.

• Collaborate with the project execution team to ensure designs are implemented correctly on-site.

• Conduct site visits during construction to guide and ensure compliance with design intent.

• Monitor design-related costs, proactively incorporating value engineering without compromising quality.

• Balance design quality with project budget and resource constraints.

• Embed sustainability, inclusivity, and organizational values into design processes.

• Ensure safety, accessibility, and climate resilience in all designs.

• Promote ethical principles and inclusivity in architectural practice, aligning with organizational values.

• Mentor, guide, and train design staff, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.

• Allocate team resources effectively and monitor performance to ensure timely and high-quality deliverables.

• Conduct appraisals, provide constructive feedback, and encourage professional development and career growth.

• Ensure timely project handover with full compliance to approved design specifications and documentation standards.

• Maintain comprehensive and organized records of all design-related materials, including drawings, specifications, reports, and project data.

SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the safety of Programme Participants, people who come into contact with the organisation and team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation including sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) to achieve the programme's goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.

• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.

• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place and encourage others to do so.
