Job Context
The Coordinator – Employment will play a critical role in supporting and ensuring job placements for AIT graduates. Working closely with trainees, industry partners, and stakeholders, the position focuses on fostering meaningful employment opportunities through effective career guidance, industry linkages, and event coordination. This role is integral to achieving the project`s objectives of sustainable job placements and strengthening AIT’s reputation as a leader in skill development.
Job Purpose
To ensure successful job placements and career growth for AIT graduates by providing career guidance, building strong industry connections, and organizing placement events. The role aims to align trainees` skills with labor market demands, monitor employment outcomes, and maintain robust partnerships with employers to meet project targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Job Placement and Career Guidance
Coordinate with AIT to place trained trainees into suitable jobs, ensuring the project`s job placement targets are met.
Conduct career guidance sessions for potential trainees using the provided module.
Assist trainees in the enrolment process by providing necessary information and support.
Implement initiatives to retain at least 80% of employed graduates in jobs for a minimum of three months.
2. Industry Linkages and Collaboration
Build and maintain strong industry connections to facilitate on-job training (OJT) and job placements for trainees.
Collaborate with industry partners to identify suitable OJT opportunities and ensure smooth transitions for AIT graduates.
Support AIT in signing MoUs/agreements with local and national employers to secure decent employment opportunities.
Organize job fairs and other promotional events to enhance job placement opportunities for graduates.
3. Monitoring and Reporting
Monitor and track the progress and success of OJT placements.
Update employment data accurately and promptly in the database, ensuring quality and systematic cross-checking.
Prepare and submit detailed reports on career guidance, enrolment, employment data, industry linkages, and job placements.
Provide data to the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team for tracking and evaluation purposes.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of activities, including reports, agreements, and industry communications.
4. Collaboration and Compliance
Collaborate with the project team and stakeholders to align activities with project goals.
Participate in meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance skills and contribute to project growth.
Ensure compliance with project reporting requirements and organizational standards.
Support AIT programs in achieving project outputs through effective collaboration.
5. Additional Duties
Perform additional tasks as assigned to support project objectives and enhance outcomes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Master’s/ bachelor’s in business administration, marketing, or a related discipline / BSc in Engineering.
Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Job Placement Officer or relevant work, preferably in Coxs Bazar.
Proven experience in job placement, career guidance, or employment services.
Strong communication and networking skills to build and maintain industry connections.
Proficiency in data management and reporting with attention to accuracy and detail.
Ability to organize events like job fairs and promotional activities.
Experience working with trainees, employers, and stakeholders in a collaborative setting.
Knowledge of industry trends and employment standards.
Knowledge of local labor market trends, skill requirements, and job placement practices.
Commitment to project goals and achieving measurable results.
Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
