∎ POSITION SUMMARY: Winrock International is seeking a professional with expertise in anti-human trafficking to conduct the Legal Impact Hub training (ToT) for the USAID Asia Trafficking in Persons (CTIP) project and Fight Slavery and Trafficking in Persons (FSTIP) Activity. The USAID Asia CTIP program is a seven-year regional initiative aimed at addressing human trafficking risks, providing appropriate responses that transcend borders, and protecting the rights of vulnerable and trafficked persons. The USAID Asia CTIP program is implemented by Winrock International. The program addresses human trafficking in Asia through activities conducted under three components: Force Multiplier 1 (FM1): Strengthening learning around trafficking in persons and interventions; Force Multiplier 2 (FM2): Improving coordination and cooperation between source, transit and destination countries; and Force Multiplier 3 (FM3): Leveraging private sector engagement to reduce trafficking in persons in target sectors.
∎ The USAID funded and Winrock International implemented FSTIP Activity is a five-year project in Bangladesh. FSTIP works in 25 districts, 89 upazilas, and 359 union parishads under the goal to reduce vulnerability to human trafficking and child marriage conducting activities under three components: prosecution, prevention, and protection through: strengthening systems, capacities, and sustainability of justice actors and institutions enhanced; prevention of human rights violations, and enhancing public awareness of the dangers of human trafficking and child marriage, as well as increasing protection of trafficking victims.
∎ The Legal Impact Hub is a project being delivered by Winrock International in partnership with ReAct Asia Limited ("ReAct"). The Legal Impact Hub project aims to build a network of legal practitioners, advocates, and civil society groups in Bangladesh to counter human trafficking and support victims to access justice and remedies. The project will also aim to support civil society groups and legal practitioners in Bangladesh to counter human trafficking by providing legal and practical capacity building, and by acting as a resource and focal point to coordinate and support counter-trafficking efforts and join forces to advocate for policy changes and legal reforms.
∎ The Consultant will be responsible for delivering the Legal Impact Hub training of trainers ToT)
∎ to anti-trafficking legal practitioners, advocates, CSOs, and survivor organizations, and other practitioners in Bangladesh. S/he will work closely with USAID Asia CTIP, ReAct, and the USAID FSTIP Activity to design and deliver the content of the training based on previously developed modules. S/he will incorporate innovative techniques, tools, and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness of the ToT training program in terms of delivering sessions and arranging demonstrations and mock sessions by participants. S/he will ensure that the training sessions equip participants with knowledge, facilitation skills, concrete demonstration ideas, and meet the specific needs of the participants, fostering collaborative and empowered community dedicated to combating human trafficking in Bangladesh and beyond.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The Consultant will be responsible for leading a 4-day ToT, including but not limited to the following: Prior to the ToT
∎ Design, plan (session-wise), and deliver the Legal Impact Hub training of trainers (ToT) to designated participants including anti-trafficking legal practitioners, advocates, CSOs, survivor organizations, and other practitioners.
∎ Collaborate closely with USAID Asia CTIP, USAID FSTIP, and ReAct to tailor and update previously developed training modules to cater to the specific needs of the participants and align with the training's objectives.
∎ Contextualize and fine-tune modules for a ToT setup.
∎ Prepare the schedule, lesson plans, materials, and tools (including handouts, presentations, worksheets, case studies, maps, diagrams, posters, infographics, etc.).
∎ Finalize a concrete set of demonstration/mock session ideas, including role-play exercises and necessary equipment;
∎ Review Bengali translated training modules and materials; During ToT
∎ Coordinate with USAID Asia CTIP, USAID FSTIP, ReAct, participants, service providers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth execution of training sessions, including logistical arrangements.
∎ Ensure the physical setup of the training space accommodates the needs of each demonstration/mock session
∎ Coordinate with ReACT and FSTIP contributors to align their facilitation with participant needs and ToT's purposes;
∎ Help interpreter in explaining technical terms to participants during the TOT;
∎ Monitor the effectiveness and impact of the ToT sessions through evaluations, feedback forms, and post-training assessments.
∎ Complete other tasks as assigned by Winrock International. After ToT
∎ Fine-tune the modules, materials/tools, and session facilitation ideas based on actual training suggestions and prepare comprehensive training modules for potential new facilitators.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Experience: Minimum five years of relevant professional experience in human rights, criminal justice, law, social inclusion, and/or work with marginalized populations in South Asia.
∎ Prior experience in conducting ToTs in human rights, criminal justice, law, and social inclusion in Bangladesh.
∎ Computer/Technical Skills: Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software (Microsoft Office Suite)
∎ Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communications.
∎ Language: Fluency in Bangla and professional working proficiency in written and spoken English. POSITION-SPECIFIC SKILLS:
∎ Background in human rights, criminal justice, law, or a related field
∎ A good understanding of current issues relating to human trafficking in Bangladesh and the surrounding region
∎ Experience working with civil society groups in Bangladesh
∎ Experience in organizing and delivering training of trainers (ToT) sessions, workshops, or presentations
∎ Willingness to travel internally within Bangladesh (travel expenses will be reimbursed)
∎ Experience with monitoring and reporting on USAID-funded projects
