Responsibilities & Context:
  • Provide specialized medical care to critically ill patients admitted in ICU.

  • Conduct daily ICU rounds and ensure appropriate assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

  • Manage ventilators and advanced life support systems.

  • Perform and supervise critical procedures (e.g., intubation, central venous line, arterial line, etc.).

  • Supervise and guide ICU Medical Officers and nursing staff.

  • Ensure accurate documentation of patient records and treatment updates.

  • Communicate patient condition and prognosis clearly to attendants/family members.

  • Attend emergency calls within hospital premises.

  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and hospital protocols.

  • Participate in clinical audits, mortality & morbidity meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Coordinate with Emergency, OT, and other departments for critical patient management.
