Work Schedule: 09 AM to 04 PM, 06 days in a week. Procedural Expertise: Mastery of diagnostic and interventional catheterization techniques across a range of case complexity .

Clinical Procedures & Interventions
Diagnostic Catheterization: Perform right and left heart catheterization, including coronary arteriography, ventriculography, and hemodynamic measurements .
Coronary Interventions: Perform percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI) including balloon angioplasty, coronary stenting, and atherectomy for treatment of coronary artery disease .
Structural Heart Procedures: Perform or assist with structural heart interventions such as Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR), MitraClip (TEER), Left Atrial Appendage Occlusion (LAAO), and septal defect closures (ASD/PFO) .
Advanced Support Devices: Utilize mechanical circulatory support devices including Intra-aortic Balloon Pump (IABP) and Impella for high-risk procedures .
Emergency Response: Provide 24/7 STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction) call coverage, managing acute coronary syndromes and cardiac emergencies .
Peripheral Interventions: Perform peripheral vascular interventions as needed (preferred skill for many positions) .
Additional Procedures: Perform pericardiocentesis, temporary pacemaker placement, and manage complications of interventional procedures .
Diagnostic Interpretation
Non-Invasive Testing: Interpret echocardiograms (transthoracic and transesophageal), stress tests, EKGs, Holter monitors, and event monitors .
Advanced Imaging: Interpret coronary CT angiography, intravascular ultrasound (IVUS), and fractional flow reserve (FFR) measurements .
Clinical Care & Patient Management
Inpatient Care: Provide consultative services and manage hospitalized cardiology patients, including those in intensive care and coronary care units .
Outpatient Clinic: Maintain a busy outpatient practice for pre-procedural evaluation and post-procedural follow-up care .
Pre- and Post-Procedure Management: Manage patients throughout the peri-procedural period, including medication management and complication prevention .
Patient Education: Counsel patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedural risks, and lifestyle modifications for cardiovascular health.
Administrative & Quality Responsibilities
Documentation: Maintain accurate, timely medical records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, ensuring compliance with billing and regulatory requirements .
Quality Improvement: Participate in clinical audits, morbidity and mortality conferences, and quality improvement initiatives .
On-Call Coverage: Participate equally in the interventional cardiology call rotation for STEMI coverage as determined by group FTE allocation .
