Job Responsibilities:
∎ Develop and review organizational policies & procedures;
∎ Review disclosures, legal documents, forms and promotional materials, agreements, contracts etc. to ensure consistency with compliance laws and regulations;
∎ Create and manage effective action plans in response to audit discoveries and compliance violations;
∎ Regular monitoring and verification on ensuring proper compliances to the Donors, NGO Affairs Bureau on different projects;
∎ Maintain liaison with third party auditors;
∎ Maintain liaison with bank, NBR and other financial institutions & authorities;
∎ Support to ensure GoB VAT and Tax compliance for NGO AB reporting;
∎ Ensure submission of Income Tax & VAT returns of the organization in due time.
∎ Deliver a full range of Tax & VAT services in compliance with laws and regulations.
∎ Ensure proper compliance as per Bangladesh Income Tax Ordinance, Company Law and VAT Act;
∎ Liaison with Govt. Regulatory bodies, Tax advisor, Consultant, Tax officials etc.
∎ Ensure proper documentation, control and maintain necessary records in respect of Taxation and VAT related issues;
∎ Monitor current and impending changes to VAT & Tax regulation and make the appropriate updates to policies and strategies;
∎ Monitor legislative and regulatory VAT & Tax law developments, communicate the effects of these developments to management and the VAT & Tax team;
∎ Continuously update VAT management policies and ensure compliance of VAT laws;
∎ Represent as an organizational representative for hearing, assessment & settlement of VAT related issue with Govt. authorities and resolve for the best interest of the organization;
∎ Filing Tax Return and withholding Tax Return and submit it to authority;
∎ Ensure Tax and VAT deduction at sources as per Tax ordinance & VAT act;
∎ Face Audit Tax & VAT personnel and produce required documents;
∎ Regularly train coworkers on changes in Tax and VAT laws;
∎ Provide support with various internal audits and special VAT & Tax related projects;
∎ Analyze transactions to determine correct VAT settlement;
∎ Ensure the VAT and Tax compliances in due time of the organization, its projects and the staff.
∎ Liaison with the NGO Affairs Bureau (NGOAB) regarding FD7, FD6, and other registration and project-related needs;
∎ Support to prepare NGOAB documents such as FD6/ FD7/ FC1, FD4 audit report;
∎ Regular follow up & visit NGOAB to oversee the progress and coordinate with different projects to meet the NGOAB requirements;
∎ Support the coordination of internal and external audits for different projects;
∎ Conduct awareness and training program on compliance issues and ensure all employees are informed on the latest regulations and processes;
∎ Resolve employee concerns about legal compliance and investigate irregularities and non-compliances;
∎ Provide audit findings and recommendations to the Management and Project Focals and follow-up proper Action Measures;
∎ Contribute to ensure the due diligences of the organization;
∎ Report overall compliance Management issues
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age at most 40 years
∎ Both males and females are allowed to apply
∎ Sound knowledge on Customs Duties, VAT, and Income Taxes
∎ Knowledge of current relevant taxation laws and NGO Bureau Rules
∎ Experiences related to updating and reconciling the VAT Current Account, Preparation of Withholding Tax Return, management of Bills Receivable and Accounts Payables
∎ Experiences to deal with NGO Affairs Bureau and Social Welfare Department
∎ Experience to prepare documentation for registration authority.
∎ Ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple priorities a must.
∎ Excellent communication skill in English and Bengali.
∎ Ability to work under pressure and to meet and deliver deadlines.
Salary: Tk. 50000 (Monthly)
