  • Proficiency in local languages is spoken in Cox’s Bazar and the FDMN community.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

  • Strong organizational and reporting skills.

  • Familiarity with the cultural, social, and economic context of the FDMN community in Cox’s Bazar.

  • Lateral relationships

  • Establish and ensure effective working relationships with BDRCS PMO staff.

  • Ensure effective working relationships with IFRC, PNSs and relevant Livelihood related GO-NGO officials.



Responsibilities & Context:

The Red Cross - Red Crescent movement is the largest volunteer organization in the world. Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) is a national society of the movement, constituted on 31 March 1973 by the President`s Order No. 26 of 1973 with retrospective effect from 16 December 1971. This is the biggest humanitarian organization in Bangladesh. As an auxiliary to the government, the Society provides humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people over the last 52 years and has undertaken a wide range of activities in humanitarian response, disaster management, health, capacity building, and in promoting Red Cross/Red Crescent ideals and principles.

Bangladesh Red Crescent Society is looking for a suitable Bangladeshi national for the following position under Population Movement Operations (PMO) at Cox’s Bazar:

Department: Cash & Livelihood Sector under Population Movement Operation (PMO).

Workstation: BDRCS Ukhiya Hub Office, Cox’s Bazar.

Contract duration: January 01- 30 September2026.

Key roles of the position:

The Community Mobilizer will play a crucial role in facilitating the implementation of livelihood programs in the FDMN (Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals) community in Cox’s Bazar. The primary objective is to engage community members, raise awareness, and ensure active participation in livelihood activities to enhance the economic stability and resilience of the community.

Duties and responsibilities:

Community Engagement:

  • Conduct regular community meetings to inform and engage community members about livelihood programs.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community leaders and members to foster trust and collaboration.

  • Facilitate community participation in needs assessments, planning, and implementation of livelihood activities.

Awareness and Education:

  • Organize and conduct training sessions and workshops on livelihood opportunities and skills development.

  • Disseminate information on best practices and success stories to motivate and inspire community members.

Program Implementation:

  • Assist in the identification and selection of program beneficiaries based on set criteria.

  • Support the distribution of cash, tools, and materials to beneficiaries as per program guidelines.

  • Monitor and report on the progress of livelihood activities, ensuring timely and effective implementation.

Data Collection and Reporting:

  • Collect and compile data on program activities, beneficiary feedback, and community needs.

  • Prepare and submit regular reports to the Senior Cash and Livelihood Officer on program progress and challenges.

Coordination and Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other BDRCS teams and partners to ensure integrated and coordinated support to the community.

  • Participate in coordination meetings and contribute to the development of strategic plans for the livelihood sector.

Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution:

  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during program implementation in a timely and effective manner.

  • Provide support and guidance to beneficiaries to overcome challenges and enhance their participation in livelihood activities.
