∎ Description: Land O`Lakes Venture37 Bangladesh implements the United States Department of Agriculture-funded Bangladesh Trade Facilitation project (BTF) and the United States Agency for International Development-funded Farmer-to-Farmer Food Safety and Quality project (F2F FSQ).
∎ BTF will expand regional and international trade in agricultural goods by addressing systemic constraints to agricultural trade at Bangladeshi ports; simplifying and automating import and export processes; improving the capacity of government agencies, laboratories, and warehouses; and by fostering private and public investment in cold storage facilities and temperature-controlled logistics.
∎ F2F FSQ increases the profitability and market access in the agro-processing sector in Bangladesh by helping partner businesses to improve their food safety practices to comply with global standards. F2F FSQ leverages the technical expertise of Land O`Lakes, Inc., a large Fortune 500 cooperative. Land O`Lakes, Inc. employees and cooperative members, as well as Venture37`s cadre of U.S. volunteers, lend their time, expertise and networks helping partners identify and fill food safety gaps that prevent them from expanding their market access.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Position Summary: The Communications Specialist is responsible for designing and implementing Communications and Outreach Strategies for Venture37's projects in Bangladesh. The objective is to creatively promote the successes and impact of the organization's work in the country as well as the achievements of partners and other project stakeholders. Implementation of the communication strategy should ensure visibility of the outputs and results as well as the role of USAID and USDA to provide the donor funding for the projects.
∎ The Communications Specialist will develop written stories and arrange visuals and content for infographics, communication pieces, and social media posts that feature the successes and learnings about BTF and F2F FSQ. In addition, the incumbent will offer advice or support to Venture37 partners or stakeholders. The Communication Specialist will help conceptualize, organize, and deliver public activities and events to engage with various stakeholders. In addition, the Communication Specialist will review and contribute to enhance the quality and creativity of presentations, documents, and workshops, seminars, and events held in-person or online. It is expected that the Communications Specialist will develop strong relationships with press and communications officers at Land O'Lakes, U.S. Government, and the Government of Bangladesh. The Specialist will liaise with media and will prepare and issue success stories and press releases to share broadly.
Additional Requirements:
∎ A minimum of five(5) years of experience in creative communications. Professional experience on a USDA/USAID/World Bank/other development partners funded program is desirable.
∎ Proven ability to produce clear and concise creative products aimed at industry and the general public.
∎ Experience with event planning, group meeting facilitation, and management of display content at conference-style events.
∎ Experience in working with media houses will be an advantage.
∎ Be fluent in English and Bangla; have excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills.
