Job Responsibilities:
∎ Supports the project's technical, cross-cutting, and operations teams to ensure efficient planning and implementation of communications activities for the program.
∎ Creates and coordinates dissemination of appropriate communication products via relevant channels of USAID Bangladesh, global MTaPS, and MSH, including traditional and social media, websites, newsletters, and at events.
∎ Works closely with and with guidance from MTaPS Strategic Communications Lead to provide news updates and stories from MTaPS Bangladesh for publishing on global MTaPS channels; to ensure communications outputs carry key messages; and to develop strategic content (short online articles, print products, videos, etc.) for promotion and campaigns.
∎ Develops and coordinates regular project highlights for distribution to USAID Bangladesh Mission, MTaPS and MSH, ensuring key messages are consistently delivered to relevant target audiences across all channels.
∎ Works directly with the technical staff to plan, design, and or/manage specific strategies and activities, such as supporting incorporation of technical, contextual and experiential learning into technical strategies, interventions, and processes.
∎ Manages and coordinates requests for project-related briefs, press briefings, case studies and other communications and knowledge products, as appropriate.
∎ Works with technical experts to guide and produce high-quality print and digital communication products that translate complex technical information into easily understandable and meaningful messages.
∎ Serves as the primary point of contact for ensuring compliance of the project's branding and marking regulations, under guidance of MTaPS Strategic Communications Lead.
∎ Assists in identifying and developing success stories, working in close collaboration with technical team and global MTaPS Communications team through the review process, approval and publishing (in print and online).
∎ Prepares and shares posts for channels like Facebook and Twitter to promote stories and content. Able to manage Facebook page.
∎ Liaises across project team and with communications counterparts across global MTaPS and MSH team and USAID Bangladesh as needed to collaborate on promotion and campaigns
Additional Requirements:
∎ Required:
∎ 5-7 years working on communications programs
∎ At least 3-4 years' experience with a global organization with a focus on communications strategy, print and digital communications, media engagement, and highly collaborative approach - internally and externally
∎ Preferred: Experience with USAID funded project will be preferred
∎ KNOWLEDGE and SKILLS:
∎ Expert writing and editing skills
∎ Native-level fluency or global standard in English for ability to write, deliver presentations, and conduct business
∎ Organized with strong multi-tasking capabilities
∎ Excellent inter-personal skills
∎ Prior experience working with international public health, development programs and USAID is helpful
∎ Self-starter who is able to work independently, as well as in teams
∎ Results-oriented, resourceful and ability to address tasks positively
∎ Computer skills essential - proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
∎ Experience with crafting posts for social media channels, such as Twitter and Facebook
∎ Experience with Web content management and MS Access a plus.
∎ Multi-media skills preferred but not necessary (example, light graphic designing, taking photos, and recording/ editing short video clips)
