Educational Requirements:
∎ Graduate in Forestry/ Natural Resource Management/ Development Studies or other relevant subjects. Masters or higher degrees will get added advantage.
∎ At least 7 years working experience in national or international NGO on Forest Conservation or Natural Resources Management of which 2 years working experience must be with Co-management Organizations (CMOs);
∎ Strong coordination and management skills;
∎ Good skills on advocacy, liaison and networking
∎ Strong Organizational Development skills for the grass root people
∎ Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
∎ Working experience with Bangladesh Forest Department and others Government Departments
∎ Ability to work with a diverse team and willingness to work under pressure;
∎ Written and verbal efficiency in both Bengali and English;
∎ Good computer literacy, presentation skills, both oral and written.

Job Context:
∎ Arannayk Foundation (AF) is a not-for-profit organization devoted to forest and biodiversity conservation in Bangladesh since 2003. AF has been awarded a fund under the USAID Ecosystem/Protibesh Activities led by Chemonics International in collaboration with CNRS, AF & ICCCAD. In Protibesh, AF will facilitate CMOs Network that will leverage high level advocates and build broad local campaign alliance to tackle crucial local system issues around policies, conservation actions and financing. The project aims to focus on strengthened the environmental governance and management, mitigated threats to bio-diversity and advance market based incentives that promote sustainable natural resource management.
∎ Duration of position approximately 34 months initially subject to satisfactory performance. However, for any reason, if the project is discontinued or fund is not available, the position shall be abolished.
∎ AF intends to hire one `CMO Network Coordinator` for the Protibesh Project. The main tasks for this position would be, but not necessarily limited to, the following:
Job Responsibilities:
∎ The basic function of the position is to lead a team to establish and manage regional and national networks of protected area co-management organizations (CMOs) under USAID's Protibesh Activity. He or She will take part in developing program strategies, approaches, methodologies and implementation process of the relevant component of Arannayk Foundation. He/she will facilitate and coordinate establishment and capacity development of the regional and national level CMO networks maintaining close relationship with Bangladesh Forest Department, Department of Fisheries, other relevant departments and Chemonics Bangladesh. The key responsibilities of the position will include but not be limited to -
∎ Identify relevant CMOs in different regions of the country who have interests and roles in conservation of the forest and wetland protected areas (PA) and find effective ways and mechanisms to engage them;
∎ Assist to reform the CMOs (if necessary) according to the PA Rules 2017 in consultation with BFD and other relevant Departments and Implementing Partners of Chemonics; assess co-management implementation processes and capacities across all sites & regions;
∎ Facilitate formation of regional co-management clusters and their capacity building based on training needs, plan and organize need-based hands-on training of the CMO leaders on organizational development and financial management;; Assist them in arranging regular meetings and events. Preparation of operational guidelines for CMO networks.
∎ Assist & facilitate formation of national co-management executive council and their capacity building;
∎ Identify policy agenda of the network members and initiate national dialogues for solutions;
∎ Promote bottom-up conservation financing initiatives and linkages of the CMO networks with various Govt. & Non-Government institutions;
∎ Facilitate CMO Network Clusters in developing Annual Development Plan (ADP) , budget preparation and capacity building on documentation process to ensure transparency and accountability;
∎ Establishing a web based database on issues related to the CMO networks, conservation activities on protected areas to have data driven decision making in PA management and networking.
∎ Ensure that project achievements, lesson learned and significant events are adequately recorded and shared with appropriate audience. Write and encourage others to prepare blog post and website content on project activities, events and learning.
∎ Ensure effective monitoring of planned project activities to meet targets and timeline as per donor requirements.
∎ Social Network analysis of CMOs; Stakeholders identification and strategic engagement with each stakeholder to achieve project goals; organize special events with various stakeholders;
∎ Maintain close relation and liaison with Bangladesh Forest Department, other relevant departments, Chemonics PMU and their other implementing partners;
∎ Prepare program budgets, high-quality narrative/ progress reports, financial reports, project completion reports as required.
∎ Ensure that Arannayk Foundation's and donors brand values are maintained to strengthen good will and credibility in line with organizational values, mission and vision.
∎ Perform any other duties/tasks as assigned by the Executive Director of AF
∎ This position will be based at the Arannayk Foundation headquarter in Dhaka with necessary field visits to working sites. He/she will report to the Executive Director of the AF. However, he/she will have working relations with other key staff members of the AF and will receive guidance from the Senior Program Officer.

∎ Negotiable
∎ One month`s extra salary will be given per year as festival bonus
