∎ Master’s degree in Climate Change /Water resources/ Environmental Engineering or Science

∎ 10 to 15 year(s)
∎ The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
Climate Change, Planning and Designing
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Work with group under Project Management;
∎ Examine the status and issues of structure related sub-projects prioritized by the project PSs in collaboration with other Specialists;
∎ Discuss the technical viability of various proposed options for each subproject from structural perspectives vs climate change stand;
∎ Review O&M options and prepare an O&M strategy including technical procedures to ensure efficiency and sustainability of the selected subprojects;
∎ For project formulation, assist PMU and PIUs in structural design of civil works including road/road structure/drain/bus-truck terminals/ boat landing/kitchen market/commercial markets and other structures;
∎ Collect relevant data, information related to structural design of schemes included in the sub-project report, and undertake detailed design, prepare design reports for the sub-project;
∎ National consultant will provide technical support more specifically, the national consultant will be entrusted with the following tasks:
∎ Review existing relevant data and information availability, i.e. existing climate change reports, historic data on climate change, climate change model results to historic events.
∎ Provide assistance during planning, preparation of drawings, estimation of the costs, design change and addressing climate related issues for activities to be taken up.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum 10 years in the field of climate change, structural design of infrastructures considering climatic aspect, climate assessment considering climate change modeling, or related activities. Proficiency in computer relevant applications will be an essence.
Salary:
∎ Practical Action will pay a consolidated amount for the whole contract, including VAT, Tax to Individual Consultant(s) and associated field travel including food, accommodation, per diem and consultation meetings and workshops. The consulting Firm(s)/ Individual Consultant(s) will be paid 5% of the agreed amount upon signing contract and remaining 90% over 18 instalments through period upon completion of deliverables and rest 5% upon completion of the assignment / or as stated by the donor.
