Job Context:
∎ BHW is now recruiting for the following positions to set up a full- fledged Secretariat to implement the regular activities of BHW and implement project activities revolving around research, high level advocacy with policy makers and programme planners, development partners and civil society partners. It is an exciting innovative project, based at JPGSPH and offering excellent working environment. All positions carry excellent benefits.
∎ Only individuals working at senior level (for the Chief Coordinator role) or senior mid-level (for other roles) should apply.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ With regard to the project:
∎ To ensure that the project deliverables are of high quality and delivered in a timely manner
∎ To develop and nurture transparent, cooperative relationship with the donor
∎ To ensure timely reporting and release of funds; to set up reporting systems
∎ To monitor and manage performance and risks
∎ To regularly convene Steering Committee meetings and be the bridge between Steering Committee and the project
∎ With regard to the secretariat :
∎ To provide leadership and guidance to the secretariat team
∎ To ensure that the secretariat works in a coordinated, harmonious way with JPGSPH
∎ To mentor the secretariat team members so that they can deliver best results
∎ To represent the secretariat/BHW in various forums
∎ Participation in advocacy initiatives:
∎ To support and guide the secretariat team in implementing specific activities
∎ To actively participate in design and implementation of advocacy strategies
∎ To proactively develop network of contacts with major stakeholders
∎ To maintain strong links with the Regional Chapters and Thematic Groups
∎ To be the spokesperson for the project and BHW to media
∎ Related to BHW:
∎ To ensure that Working Group meetings are held regularly; work as secretary of the Working Group
∎ To represent BHW in different forums
∎ To engage in fund-raising as and when required
Additional Requirements:
∎ At least 15 years of experience in working at senior mid-level; at least 5 years in senior level
∎ Familiar with the health sector of Bangladesh; experience of working closely with the government will be an advantage
∎ Excellent communication skills in both English and Bangla
∎ Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines
∎ Demonstrable capacity to work on several fronts and with several agencies in parallel
∎ Great team-building experience
∎ Strong leadership and negotiation skills
∎ Person of high integrity and resilience
