Education:
∎ Master of Science (MSc) in Social Science, Master of Science (MSc) in Development Studies
∎ Master degree in social science, development studies or any relevant subject from recognized University.

Requirements:

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Developed monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans in collaboration with the Project Coordinator, ensuring alignment with the Detailed Implementation Plan (DIP).
∎ Designed activity plans within approved budgets and timelines, implementing strategies to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
∎ Provided supervision and ongoing mentorship to CBCP Officers and Facilitators to prepare life skills and awareness-raising sessions on CPiE, youth engagement, GBV, UASC, Food Security & Nutrition, and DRR.
∎ Developed a strategic capacity-building plan to support team growth in life skills and CBCP activities, including child development and CFS management.
∎ Ensured CBCP activities adhered to Inter-Agency Standards for child-friendly spaces, gender-transformative approaches, resilience strategies, DRR, CPiE, and child safeguarding policies.
∎ Maintained documentation for Child Friendly Space (CFS) attendance and collaborated with CP agencies to develop key messages.
∎ Facilitated linkages with the Case Management and Family Tracing and Reunification workstream, ensuring vulnerable children’s referrals from Community Engagement Teams were followed up.
∎ Provided regular updates to the Project Coordinator on project implementation progress, challenges, and support needs.
∎ Monitored progress using established frameworks and ensured tools were in place to measure impact and results.
∎ Establish and strengthen community-based child protection mechanisms in collaboration with community leaders and volunteers.
∎ Support to CBCP officer to conduct awareness sessions on child rights, safeguarding, and child protection risks for children, parents, and caregivers.
∎ Facilitate timely referrals for vulnerable children by maintaining effective referral pathways with relevant service providers
∎ Supported the development of monthly and weekly work plans for activity implementation, including coordination meetings in Ukhiya Camps & Host communities.
∎ Led the setup, supervision, and monitoring of psychosocial activities in fixed and mobile CFS units, ensuring compliance with Child Protection Minimum Standards, UNCRC guidelines, and child safeguarding policies.
∎ Managed adolescent club activities, supervised life skills session delivery, and ensured quality performance by staff and volunteers.
∎ Directed CBCP project components, strategic programming needs assessments, and resolving implementation challenges in the field.
∎ Designed and facilitated capacity development activities for CBCP staff, facilitators, and volunteers on Safe Spaces management, including:
∎ Identifying and constructing safe spaces
∎ Managing activities and psychological first aid
∎ Recognizing signs of abuse and initiating referral pathways for specialized services
∎ Conducting community dialogue, parenting sessions, and adolescent support initiatives.
∎ Organize and deliver training sessions for BITA staff, volunteers, and community facilitators on child protection, psychosocial support (PSS), and safeguarding practices.
∎ Develop training materials and tools to build the capacity of project teams and community stakeholders.
∎ Conducted regular field visits to monitor project activities across camps and host communities, providing on-the-spot guidance and necessary support.
∎ Developed gender-sensitive responses to child protection concerns and ensured early implementation of quality and accountability mechanisms.
∎ Documented best practices and success stories, contributing to opportunities for shared learning within and across teams.
∎ Prepared case evidence-based case stories as per donor requirement.
∎ Support to prepare IEC materials as per program requirement and ensure project visibility.
∎ Developed and maintained relationships with Upazila-level government officials, CiCs, and other stakeholders to support project activities and advocacy efforts.
∎ Ensured child safeguarding and gender diversity principles were upheld in all project activities, fostering safe environments for program participants.
∎ BITA (Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts) a non-governmental organization, has been administering development initiatives focusing human rights, cultural upliftment and poverty alleviation since 1994.

∎ The basis of development intervention in BITA is rights based approach. Following the Rohingya’s influx in Bangladesh, BITA has is set up a CPiE prevention and response program in the refugee and host community, in Cox’s Bazar district (Ukhiya and Teknaf). BITA has sequentially developed an empowerment process which starts its journey from building relationship with communities through communication, support them with raising of their awareness level, facilitating them in transforming their trust into internalization capacity to visualize self-development, make them confident to become actor from observer.

∎ The scope of the CBCP coordinator position is to ensure child protection mechanism strengthening through the establishment and enhancing of CBCP activities for children and youth and Gender and protection transformative approaches including food security and nutrition’s in youth and community engagement. Communication with community is the core component of the program including awareness raising activities (Session, meeting, training …), life skills, advocacy activities and recreational activities based upon child development perspective in emergency setting to promote CPiE standards.

∎ BITA has been implementing Joining Forces for Food Security and Child Protection in Emergencies (JF-FS & CPiE) project at Ukhiya and Teknaf upazila and Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar district supported by Plan International Bangladesh, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO). The expected outcome of the project is improved protection of girls, boys in vulnerable situations through access to life saving, quality, gender-sensitive, & inclusive child protection, Food Security, nutrition- sensitive interventions.
∎ What we are looking for:
∎ Proven experience of managing team, providing training and capacity building on child protection technical areas with a variety of audiences. Previous experience working in Child Friendly Space, Community Based groups, youth engagement, advocacy and Psychosocial Support service provision. Coordination and team management. University degree in social work, psychology, social sciences or related field. Good knowledge and understanding of humanitarian principles and established international child protection minimum standards. Experience in implementing programs focusing on: working with vulnerable children, social work with children and families, working with child survivors of violence, children outside of parental care, psychosocial support, etc. Proven project/team management skills, including in monitoring and evaluation for child protection projects. Ability to work independently and as a team player who demonstrates leadership and is able to support and train local staff and also able to work with disaster affected communities in a sensitive and participatory manner. Well-developed written and oral communication skills in both English and Bengali. Able to communicate clearly and sensitively with internal and external stakeholders as a representative of BITA. This includes effective negotiation and representation skills. Works with trustworthiness and integrity and clear commitment to organizational core values and humanitarian principles. Ability to operate effectively under extreme circumstances including stress, high security risks and harsh living conditions. Works and lives with a flexible, adaptable and resilient manner. Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to gender and diversity. Have experience and the ability to live and work in diverse cultural contexts in a culturally appropriate manner. Has capacity to make accurate self-assessment particularly in high stress and high security contexts. Knowledge of, Sphere and the Red Cross/ NGO Code of Conduct. Requires general finance, administration, information management and telecommunication skills and proficiency in information technology/ computer skills. About 4-5 years working experiences in a humanitarian context - experience in working with refugees. Fluency in English and Bangla (both reading and writing). Prior experience of working in greater Chittagong Division and knowledge of Chittagong or Rohingya is a plus.
