Responsibilities & Context:
Create and modify 2D and 3D mold designs using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, NX, Creo, or similar).
Prepare detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOM (Bill of Materials).
Develop CAM programs for CNC machining using CAM software.
Interpret customer drawings, product models, and technical specifications.
Design plastic injection molds, dies, jigs, and fixtures according to project requirements.
Review mold designs for manufacturability, quality, and cost optimization.
Coordinate with the Tool Room, CNC Machining, EDM, and Mold Assembly teams to ensure design accuracy.
Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes and customer feedback.
Maintain proper documentation and version control of all design files.
Support mold trials, troubleshooting, and design modifications when required.
Ensure all designs comply with company standards and customer specifications.
Assist in improving mold performance, cycle time, and production efficiency.
Follow workplace safety, quality, and 5S standards.
Perform other design-related tasks assigned by the Engineering Manager or Supervisor.
Required Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and at least one 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, NX, CATIA, etc.).
Basic knowledge of CAM software and CNC machining processes.
Understanding of plastic injection molds, die components, and tooling.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
Good problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
