Education:
    • Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) in Accounting
    • Master of Commerce (MCom) in Accounting
  • Bachelor/Master`s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

  • Professional qualifications such as CA, CC/ICMAB/ACCA will be considered an added advantage.

  • VAT related training from NBR/BIDA/ICMAB will be preferred.

  • Experience in manufacturing, processing, or import/export business preferred.

  • Expertise in Mushak forms, return submission, documentation, and reconciliation.

  • Strong analytical ability with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication, reporting, and team leadership skills.

  • Ability to handle NBR audits, inspections, and regulatory correspondence.

  • High level of integrity and professional ethics.



Responsibilities & Context:

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly knowledgeable VAT Asst. Manager/Manager to lead and manage the organization`s VAT operations in full compliance with the Value Added Tax and Supplementary Duty Act 2012 of Bangladesh. The ideal candidate will ensure proper VAT documentation, reporting, reconciliation, compliance, and communication with NBR and relevant authorities.

  • Oversee and manage the company`s entire VAT operations as per NBR rules and VAT Act 2012.

  • Ensure proper preparation, verification, and submission of all Mushak forms including Mushak 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 9.1, 9.2, and 4.3.

  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT Return (Mushak 9.1) through the VAT Online Portal on time.

  • Ensure proper maintenance of Sales Register, Purchase Register, VAT Challan, and Input/Output Coefficient declarations.

  • Conduct input VAT and output VAT reconciliation, verifying accuracy of all VAT calculations.

  • Monitor VAT deductions at source (VDS), ensure proper challan deposit, and maintain related documentation.

  • Review vendor invoices for VAT compliance and resolve discrepancies with suppliers.

  • Coordinate and assist in VAT audits, inspections, and queries from NBR, Customs, and VAT Commissionerate offices.

  • Lead VAT planning, tax efficiency analysis, and risk minimization initiatives.

  • Update management on VAT laws, SROS, regulatory changes, and compliance implications.

  • Work closely with Finance & Accounts, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams to ensure smooth integration of VAT procedures.

  • Prepare periodic VAT reports, statements, and compliance dashboards for senior management.

  • Maintain well-organized filing and archiving of all VAT-related documents for audit and future reference.

  • Supervise and guide VAT and accounts support staff to ensure accuracy and timely execution of activities.

  • Develop and improve internal VAT compliance processes, and reporting systems.

  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the management related to VAT and compliance operations.

  • Coordinate VAT audits with VAT Authorities.
