∎ At least 4 years of research experience in quantitative research. Candidates who have experience in implementation research and/or impact evaluation are preferred. Also experience contributing to or leading research proposal development and submission is highly desirable.
∎ At least 2 publications in peer-reviewed journals (with at least 1 as first/second author)

Responsibilities & Context:
∎ Identify sources of funding and apply for research grants to international and national donors in collaboration with team and across other research Centres and hubs at JPGSPH.
∎ Develop and write high quality research proposals reflecting innovative design and relevance in the field of public health, with a particular emphasis on implementation science and impact evaluation.
∎ Lead mixed method/quantitative research projects as Principal investigator or Co-Principal Investigator.
∎ Generate high quality reports and publications, and disseminate results through meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences and other medium with a focus on research utilization and uptake.
∎ Manage budgets of research projects and ensure that financial reports are shared with donors/partners on time.
∎ Develop internal and external network and partnership that benefit CoE-SISU and JPGSPH in general.
∎ Mentor junior researchers in CoE-SISU and initiate capacity building trainings within the team.
∎ Design and provide short courses under the JPGPSH Centre of Professional Skill and Development, especially on implementation research.
∎ Provide teaching and mentoring to MPH students and supervise individual theses
∎ Assist in ensuring implementation research related initiatives and implementation research support are
∎ implemented among the MPH students with TDR scholarships
∎ Liaise with JPGSPH Communications Department to assist the CoE-SISU Director in maintaining an up-to-date Centre webpage and communications materials.
∎ Promote implementation research activities of Coe-SISU.
∎ Represent the University in a professional manner, including links with professional bodies, research funding streams, etc.
∎ We are looking for an Assistant Scientist to join our dynamic team at the Centre of Excellence for Science of Implementation and Scale-up at one of the most prestigious schools of public health in the country. The Centre is also proud to support the Master of Public Health programme in managing the fully funded Tropical Diseases Research (TDR) Fellowship by the World Health Organization. The Assistant Scientist position offers exciting opportunities to design and implement cutting-edge innovative research on emerging public health issues as well as provide opportunities for teaching and mentoring, in addition to publishing in peer-reviewed journals and participating in international and national conferences. We are seeking someone who is interested in and passionate about implementation research and has sound knowledge on quantitative research methodologies.
