Job Context:
∎ The Assistant Nutrition and Hygiene Officer will provide support to the different awareness activities implementation of project area. The Assistant Nutrition & Hygiene Officer will lead the Volunteers which involve awareness and campaign related activities, ensure the overall community engagement, hygiene and nutrition messages and NFI to the target area peoples.
∎ The Assistant Nutrition & Hygiene Officer will report to the Technical Coordinator (Hygiene Promotion) and work inclusively with HP and nutrition Volunteers and labors. He/she ensures quality of works, find out HNWS related problems/complain from the users and take action priority basis. The major rule of Assistant Nutrition & Hygiene Officer to capacity building of Rohingya Volunteers & report generate to the management before deadline.
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Responsible for coordinating Rohingya Facilitators, labors and other
∎ To coordinate with other relevant agencies representatives, Majhi, faith leaders and WASH and nutrition Committee
∎ Prepare awareness related report(s) (weekly and monthly)
∎ Assists WASH Coordinator to project activities updates on regular basis.
∎ Following Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) and PIG for the delivery of project WASH and Nutrition activities
∎ Provide overall follow up and supervision of the software related activities to the project.
∎ Communicate to WASH Focal Points on WASH infrastructure monitoring, operations, and maintenance.
∎ Be aware of emergency procedures in a response.
∎ Provide leadership training WASH and Nutrition committee members.
∎ To assists session facilitation skills and techniques.
∎ The Assistant Nutrition & Hygiene Officer is primarily responsible for Hygiene Promotion outputs of an operational program in WASH and Nutrition response. They manage the day-to-day Hygiene and nutrition Promotion activities, with each community volunteer working with a group of Community Mobilization in a specific location or sector of the disaster-affected population.
∎ S/he will be managing the field facilitator and engagement with stakeholders as well as ensuring the quality, timeliness, and efficiency of all products and activities generated under the respective grants. The Assistant Nutrition and Hygiene Officer is expected to have strong leadership qualities and both the depth and breadth of technical and management expertise. Supervise Hygiene and Nutrition Promotion activities in line with relevant standards, codes of conduct, and humanitarian principles. Use participatory approaches as a far as possible throughout the program cycle, in training, and in the use of tool kits and other materials. Supervise Hygiene and Nutrition Promotion activities and resources so that they are implemented and handed over or ended in a way that promotes local capacities and sustainable operations.
∎ Activities implement followed by DIP & PIG
∎ All the implemented activities record keeping with necessary information.
∎ Timely authentic report submission to the management
∎ Build capacity of Facilitators/ Rohingya Volunteers to effectively deliver services to the targeted beneficiaries.
∎ Organize knowledge and skill sharing session among the colleagues on infrastructures.
∎ Field findings and best practices sharing with the colleagues.
∎ Organize the awareness raising, campaign event/program in communities’ level at camp area coordinating with different stakeholders.
∎ Capacity building of WASH Committee members
∎ Establish and liaison closely with other partners, agencies and local leaders regarding project activities to ensure a coordinated approach to project implementation, including participation in relevant workshops, meetings and to keep the Programs with WASH sector lead informed.
∎ Participate in interagency assessments and collaboration.
∎ Prepare PR on the basis of field assessment.
∎ Ensure procurement and spending is aligned with the technical needs of the program.
∎ Track and manage project budget lines.
∎ Ensure timely reporting in line with the donors' requirements.
∎ When relevant and required will participate in in the hiring process of staff
∎ Actively build the capacity of the program staff and ensure team work among all team members as well as other WV staffs.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Age 25 to 35 years
∎ Under the supervision and direction Technical Coordinator (Hygiene) and with other WASH sector stakeholders as part of the WASH intervention, to safeguard and improve the public health of the affected population by promoting safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH facilities and services, measuring appropriate community involvement in the design and delivery of essential WASH services and facilities.
∎ Promote safe WASH practices, including appropriate use and maintenance of WASH facilities and services.
∎ Facilitate appropriate community involvement in the design and delivery of essential WASH services and facilities using safety audit tools and gender assessment.
∎ Collate data from Community Mobilisers and prepare regular reports on activities.
∎ Regular submission of reports to WASH Coordinator (Hygiene)
∎ Monitor the construction works on a regular basis to check and ensure good quality of materials and implementation.
∎ Chittagong/Rohingya and Bengali language skills will add value. Very
∎ Decision making and conflict resolution skills
∎ Competent in using MS Word, MS Excel and PowerPoint presentation
∎ Ability to work under stressful condition and adaptive to local culture and situation
∎ Minimum of 3 years working experiences in the relevant field
∎ World Vision experiences has additional value
∎ Should be willingness and able to travel in camp location regularly.
∎ Working relation building among the staffs and stakeholders
