Experience:
Master's degree with honors in Social Science/ Anthropology/ Development Studies/ Economics/ Statistics/ Sociology/ Environmental Science /or a related field from any recognized university.
At least a 2nd Division/Class must be obtained in all examinations. For grading systems, a minimum CGPA of 2.00 on a scale of 4.00 and a minimum CGPA of 2.50 on a scale of 5.00 are required.
Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in research or program evaluation, preferably in the development or non-profit sector.
Preference will be given to applicants who have published journal articles (as first author or co-author) and/or have completed an honors or master’s level thesis, as these indicate strong academic research experience and practical exposure.
Experience in conducting quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-method studies, including data analysis using relevant software (SPSS/Stata/NVivo/Atlas.ti);
Have advanced knowledge of research methodology, data collection techniques, and statistics;
Excellent G Suite skills (including Gmail, Google Forms, Google Scholar, & Google Drive);
Proficiency in intermediate to advanced level presentation (MS PowerPoint), word processing (MS Word), and spreadsheet software (MS Excel);
Experience with digital data collection tools such as KoboToolbox, ODK, or SurveyCTO.
Excellent computer skills are mandatory.
Ability to work independently and in a team with people from diverse backgrounds.
Strong communication & presentation skills side-by-side rapport-building ability
Commitment to upholding ethical research practices and safeguarding policies
Must have in-depth knowledge of microfinance program, including appropriate client selection, microcredit disbursement, installment collection, savings collection, and recovery of overdue loans.
Attitude for working with poor and marginalized people.

Jagorani Chakra Foundation (JCF) is a nationally recognized non-government development organization and a leading microfinance institution (MFI) in Bangladesh. Applications are hereby invited from qualified and eligible Bangladeshi nationals for the position of Assistant Manager in the Research and Planning Department. The selected candidate will be responsible for undertaking and supporting diverse research and analytical activities of the organization. Job Responsibility:
• Assist the Head of the Research & Planning Department in identifying priority research areas, selecting appropriate research designs, and overseeing study implementation.
• Design, develop, and validate qualitative and quantitative research tools, including indicators, questionnaires, interview guides, and observation checklists.
• Coordinate large-scale quantitative surveys from conceptualization and sampling design to field implementation and data quality assurance.
• Carry out field visits and beneficiary observations to monitor program performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data using appropriate analytical techniques to generate actionable insights for program improvement and policy decision-making.
• Conduct literature reviews and secondary data analysis to identify research gaps, emerging issues, and evidence-based program needs.
• Plan and supervise field visits, data collection processes, enumerator training, and monitoring to ensure methodological rigor and data integrity.
• Contribute analytical inputs and innovative ideas to support program design, refinement, and future strategic development.
• Prepare high-quality research reports, policy briefs, and knowledge products, including advanced data analysis, interpretation, and visualization.
• Support the publication, presentation, and dissemination of research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate closely with program, MEAL, and management teams to ensure research findings align with organizational goals and mission.
• Maintain proper documentation of research processes, datasets, and outputs for institutional learning and accountability.
• Perform other research-related and administrative tasks as assigned by the management from time to time.
• Provide data and analytical support to donors, NGOs, and partner organizations as required.
• Knowledge support for improving and expanding the services of the organization.
• Follow the organization's Child Safeguarding, Protection from Sexual Exploitation and Abuse (PSEA), Gender, Money laundering, Whistle Blowing and other Policies.
During the six-month probationary period, the consolidated monthly salary will be BDT 33,000. Upon successful completion of the probation period and subsequent confirmation of service, the monthly salary will be BDT 41,165 along with other benefits as per organizational policy.
