Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager specializing in Electrical & Electronic Engineering to oversee maintenance operations for our fleet of ships & Shipyard. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipboard electrical systems, troubleshooting, and planned maintenance activities, ensuring all marine electronic and electrical systems function optimally.
Key Responsibilities:
1.Supervise and execute electrical and electronic maintenance activities aboard ships and onshore.
2.Plan, schedule, and ensure completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.
3.Troubleshoot complex electrical/electronic issues on propulsion systems, navigation systems, power distribution, automation systems, etc.
4.Assist in dry-docking projects, surveys, and retrofitting of electrical systems.
5.Ensure compliance with Class, Flag State, and international maritime electrical regulations.
6.Prepare maintenance reports, fault diagnostics, and repair records.
7.Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and OEMs for spare parts and service contracts.
8.Lead and train technical staff and onboard electricians.
9.Support energy efficiency and system upgrade initiatives.
10. Troubleshoot and repair electrical control systems, navigation systems, automation equipment, and communication systems.
11. Provide technical support during audits, inspections, and surveys.
12. Ensure compliance with safety and marine regulatory standards (e.g., IMO, Class, Flag).
13. Collaborate with shipyard engineering, mechanical, and operations teams.
14. Manage and supervise electrical maintenance technicians and contractors.
Qualifications & Experience:
1.Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or Bachelor’s Degree Marine Engineering.
2. Minimum 7-10 years of experience in ship/shipyard electrical systems maintenance.
3.Familiar with electrical equipment such as generators, switchboards, sensors, PLCs, and automation systems.
4.Experience with shipping industry standards (IMO, SOLAS, ISM, etc.).
5.Class III COC (E&T) preferred (not mandatory).
6.Good understanding of shipboard systems including power distribution, automation, navigation, and communication systems.
7.Familiarity with marine classification societies (e.g., ABS, DNV, LR).
8.Experience in shipyard project environments is a plus.
9.Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and leadership skills.
10.Willingness to work in a shipyard or onboard environment as needed.
