Responsibilities & Context:

The Assistant Manager – Credit plays a key role in supporting the hotel’s financial integrity and cash flow in line with Marriott International and Westin brand standards. The position is responsible for effective credit risk management, accounts receivable control, and ensuring compliance with Marriott financial policies, SOPs, and internal control requirements. This role partners closely with Sales, Finance, and Operations to support revenue growth while safeguarding the hotel’s financial interests.

The role demonstrates Marriott’s core values by acting with integrity, prioritizing guest and associate satisfaction, and supporting a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

  • Implement and maintain hotel credit policies in accordance with Marriott International Credit Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Review and assess credit applications for corporate accounts, travel agents, banquet clients, and long-stay guests.

  • Recommend and manage credit limits and payment terms within delegated authority.

  • Conduct regular reviews of credit exposure and identify potential risks, escalating concerns to the Finance Leadership when required.

  • Oversee daily monitoring of accounts receivable balances and aging reports.

  • Ensure timely invoicing and follow-up on outstanding balances to meet Marriott cash flow and collection targets.

  • Coordinate with Sales, Events, and Front Office teams to resolve billing discrepancies and disputed charges.

  • Follow up on overdue accounts and initiate collection actions in line with Marriott escalation procedures.

  • Provide guidance and day-to-day support to Credit Officers or Finance associates.

  • Support training of associates on Marriott credit policies, systems (e.g., MARSHA, Opera, ERP), and best practices.

  • Actively participate in departmental initiatives that promote continuous improvement and associate engagement

  • Ensure adherence to Marriott Internal Control Questionnaire (ICQ) requirements and audit standards.

  • Support internal, external, and brand audits by providing documentation, reconciliations, and explanations.

  • Maintain proper documentation for credit approvals, guarantees, and collection actions.
