Educational Requirements:
∎ Education to degree level or above in a relevant field, e.g. teaching/education, social science, public administration or gender issues.

Job Context:
∎ Report to: Executive Director
∎ Working Area: Sylhet, with frequent travel within Bangladesh

Job Responsibilities:
∎ The successful candidate will be a member of a small collaborative Senior Management Team.
∎ They will:
∎ Be responsible for the day-to-day management of all aspects of UKBET's education programmes;
∎ Play an active role in UKBET's planning, decision-making, risk management and accountability;
∎ Have significant experience, skills and expertise in relation to the teaching and learning of basic/informal education, children's rights, child protection and issues relating to the empowerment of girls and young women;
∎ Act as an advocate and change agent to drive the momentum for UKBET's organisational development and future programmes.
∎ MAIN DUTIES
∎ The post-holder will:
∎ Support and direct the day-to-day work of the charity's education and poverty relief programmes and projects;
∎ Line manage UKBET's programme and project managers and coordinators - motivating, supporting and supervising staff;
∎ Ensure the quality of teaching, learning and fieldwork;
∎ Lead and contribute to a staff development programme that inspires and develops staff across the charity;
∎ In collaboration with teachers and fieldworkers, set and monitor realistic and stretching targets;
∎ In collaboration with the Assistant Director of Finance and Administration, allocate, manage and report on budgets for which they are directly responsible;
∎ Maintain intelligent and accurate data collection and reporting systems;
∎ Contribute to the planning, development and implementation of the charity's strategic plan;
∎ Organize marketing and publicity events to promote the charity, involving stakeholders, beneficiaries and influencers;
∎ Represent and network on behalf of UKBET with stakeholders drawn from a range of communities and influence.

Additional Requirements:
∎ We are looking for someone who can demonstrate through their application that they meet the following criteria:
∎ An understanding of the issues that drive a family to send their children to work instead of school together with a commitment to UKBET's mission of ending child labour.
∎ Knowledge and experience of the teaching and learning of basic skills (literacy and numeracy), children's rights, child protection and gender issues.
∎ Experience of leading and supporting a successful team that ensures high standards in all aspects of their work.
∎ Experience of project planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
∎ Excellent communication skills, including fluency in English.
∎ An effective use of social media and digital tools

Salary:
∎ Up to 40,000 Tk per month (depending on experience) + benefits & bonuses
