Experience:
Bachelors/Masters degree in climate, humanitarian action, international studies, business management, public administration, or relevant field preferred.
Candidates having at least 5 years of relevant working experience in the field of Disaster Management and/or the design, implementation, and monitoring of humanitarian assistance programs.
Demonstrated operational experience and understanding of disaster management, institutional preparedness, anticipation, and the role of CVA.
Red Cross experience strongly preferred especially experience in working with a National Society or working within the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Excellent verbal and written skills, and effective interpersonal skills
Must display flexibility, adaptability, initiative, results oriented behavior.
Excellent analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize, process and prioritize large amounts of information quickly.
Excellent computer skills with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Comfort engaging with a variety of communication and project management platforms (e.g., Zoom, Click Up, Slack, Trello, MSTeams, among others).
Advanced knowledge of spoken and written English.
Fluent in speaking and writing Bangla.
Working proficiency in spoken and written Indonesian, Nepali, or Filipino (preferred)

American Red Cross is working in Bangladesh as an integrated partner of IFRC and a bi-lateral partner to support the disaster preparedness and humanitarian efforts of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS).
Job Purpose:
The American Red Cross seeks an Anticipatory Action Regional Lead to provide technical support to the International Services Department’s (ISD) Asia Pacific (AP) Division. Specifically, this position will help advance American Red Cross Anticipation and early warning/early action activities in ISD’s AP focus countries in alignment with a department-wide Anticipatory Action strategy.
The Anticipation Action Regional Lead will work closely with AP Division and International Response Readiness teams in the International Services Department, Red Cross National Society Disaster Management Staff, International Federation of Red Cross/Red Crescent (IFRC) colleagues, and other relevant stakeholders to advance the ongoing implementation of Anticipatory Action in the Asia Pacific Division.
This position is based in the Asia Pacific region, outposted in Dhaka, Bangladesh, and includes up to 50% travel. The position reports to the Asia Pacific Deputy Director and is matrixed to the Sr. Global Anticipation Lead to ensure collaborative engagement.
