Job Responsibilities:
∎ With the Project Strengthening Rural Advisory Services to Support the Economic Situation of Women in the Char Region of Bangladesh / Rural Advisory Services for Women Empowerment (RASWE), Welthungerhilfe (WHH) aims to support female farmers and female community service providers in the district of Sirajganj. The overall objective is to improve the socio-economic situation of economically vulnerable and politically marginalized women through increased access to quality counseling services, improved capacity of female community service providers, the formation of women- entrepreneur groups/MSMEs and the increase of their influence on economic decisions.
∎ The incumbent is responsible for the delivery and management of technical and social expertise on Economic Development, providing high quality and appropriate inputs, and ensuring a high standard of project activities in a cost effective and timely manner.
∎ Depending on the position's division, the Economic Development Expert is responsible for carrying out procurement activities, implementing social components within the framework of the specified project assignment.
∎ Implementation of specialized workshops and capacity building of staff members
∎ Capacity building of local partners in beneficiary selection and verification, reporting, compliance with WHH and donor financial, logistics, advertise/tender and security procedures.
∎ Consultation regarding the introduction, rehabilitation or maintenance of technical equipment, regarding social issues or any other areas in the focus of this position
∎ Ensure adherence to quality standards in relevant fields.
∎ Management and maintenance of technical equipment if applicable
∎ Monitoring of the inventory of assets and equipment related to the position.
∎ Documentation of relevant technical and procurement processes
∎ Timely preparation of progress reports and support partners in ensuring coherent, timely and effective reporting
∎ Establish and support lessons learnt database and support partners in transforming lessons learnt into concrete actions.
∎ Support the civil society engagement of partners and ensure that activities are implemented to maximize sustainable impact.
∎ Ensure gender and age prioritization throughout project implementation.
∎ Supports strategic partnerships with donors, partners and the government.
∎ Support the development of new proposals that respond to the specific needs of participants, and that are aligned with donor, government, and Welthungerhilfe priorities in the country.
∎ Provide guidance and technical backstopping for partners and Welthungerhilfe staff in the development of project proposals.
∎ Fulfillment of any other tasks within the position's field of expertise which may be assigned by the management.
Additional Requirements:
∎ Minimum of 5-years of experience, working with in a relevant field (Experience NGO / INGOs - Humanitarian organizations is advantageous)
∎ A professional with very good interpersonal skills, results-oriented, flexible, organized and systematic, attention to details, team player but also the ability to work independently.
∎ Good command of English and Bangla is required. Speaking of local language is an advantage.
∎ Hands-on experience in relevant software/ applications
∎ Willingness to travel the project areas/ fields (remote areas)
∎ Dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and difficult environment.
∎ Practical, quick, reasoning skills; must be able to communicate with all parties of the project.
∎ Demonstrated ability for people management.
∎ A team player; committed to motivating and leading staff.
∎ Clear understanding of the working of Donors grants and their perspective, requirements and standard.
∎ Willing to travel to and in remote areas.
