Job Context
The Accounts Officer holds a crucial position within the Student Consultancy Firm, directly managing all financial operations related to student fees, university commission payments, and the firm’s operational expenses. This role requires precision, integrity, and a strong understanding of international payment transfers and regulatory compliance, particularly regarding student remittances for tuition and visa applications. The officer ensures accurate financial tracking of every student`s lifecycle (from consultation fee to tuition remittance) and provides vital financial reporting to management.
Job Responsibilities
1. Student and Client Accounting Management
Fee Processing and Tracking: Manage the invoicing, collection, and accurate recording of all client-paid fees, including consultation charges, service charges, and application fees.
Tuition and Remittance: Process international fund transfers for student tuition fee payments to overseas universities, ensuring adherence to foreign exchange regulations and providing students/parents with transparent payment proofs.
2. Institutional and Commission Accounting
Commission Tracking: Accurately calculate, track, and reconcile commission receivables from partner universities based on successful student enrollments and signed agency agreements.
Invoicing and Collections: Prepare and submit professional invoices to partner educational institutions for commissions due and actively follow up to ensure timely payment.
Partner Payouts: Manage payments to any third-party recruitment agents or local partners, ensuring adherence to contractual agreements.
3. Financial Control and Compliance
Bookkeeping and Reconciliation: Maintain complete and accurate books of accounts (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable) and perform monthly bank and ledger reconciliations.
Reporting: Prepare and present detailed weekly and monthly financial reports, including cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, and budget vs. actual variance analysis, to senior management.
