  • 3 years of experience in a similar position is required,
  • those who have experience in microfinance program will get preference.
  • Preference will be given to those who have received training on Finance, Accounts, VAT and Tax;
  • Familiar with accounting software and the capability to operate them;
  • Experience in facing external and internal auditors and meeting their requirements;
  • Experience in Computer operation;
  • Knowledge of up-to-date Bangladesh Accounting Standards (BAS) and Bangladesh Financial Reporting Standards (BFRS), including VAT and Tax regulations;
  • The candidates should have a valid driving license for motorcycle.


Responsibilities & Context:

Christian Service Society (CSS), a renowned national non-governmental organization, has been serving the needs of underprivileged and marginalized communities since 1972. CSS has been working towards creating sustainable change in Bangladesh, implementing a number of projects and programs focusing on areas such as education, healthcare, women's empowerment, disaster relief and rehabilitation, economic (microfinance) and enterprise development, etc. We are looking for an experienced and qualified “Accounts Officer” who will be responsible for carrying out all accounts-related activities of the organization, including projects and programs.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare budget and follow up budget expenditure.
  • Prepare daily cash and cheque requisition, including monthly cash requisition.
  • Daily banking, including all bank transactions and Cash payments.
  • Ensure VAT and Tax regulations and revenue stamp compliance for payments where applicable.
  • Prepare, Submit and follow up MRA reports timely.
  • Take the initiative to transfer funds to the respective project.
  • Check financial software, including daily Voucher posting in the software.
  • Maintain FDR schedule and carry out related works.
  • Prepare monthly and annual accounts.
  • Face internal and external audits, ensuring necessary documentation.
  • Execute staff’s income tax-related works.
  • Visit field projects and other places as per plan.
  • Collect updated information regarding MRA, GO, NGO, and NGO Affairs Bureau.
  • Coordinate with all projects in relation to accounting and financial issues.
  • Study of project agreements and guidelines.
  • Follow up on the organization’s policy for compliance.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
