Educational Requirements:
∎ Undergraduate degree preferably in Law/Statistics/Anthropology /Development Studies/ Environmental Science/ Public Health/Any other relevant discipline from any recognized and reputed university of Bangladesh or abroad.
Job Context:
∎ Job Purpose: Young Professional` (YP) does not mean an `employee` employed by WaterAid Bangladesh, this is a flagship programme through which WaterAid provides adequate support and opportunity to the Bangladeshi young, fresh, and talented aspirants having good academic background with no job experience, so that they can groom their skills in the organisational environment, obtain relevant experience and prepare themselves to contribute professionally to an organisational set-up in coming days.
∎ The main objective of engaging the YP is to provide support and opportunities for young and talented Bangladeshi individuals. This will enable them to develop their skills within an organisational setting, gain relevant experience and prepare themselves for future professional contributions.
∎ The YP will have the opportunity to learn and contribute to WaterAid Bangladesh`s Advocacy & Campaign team. S/he will be responsible to support the Advocacy & Campaign Lead facilitating the National WASH Journalists and other WASH-related Forums/Networks.
∎ This position will offer exciting challenges to undertake and gain valuable on-job trainings.
∎ Reportable To: Advocacy & Campaign Lead
∎ Workstation: Bangladesh Country Office, Dhaka
∎ Working Hours: 37.5
∎ Contract Tenure: 1 Year starting from the date of joining
∎ Ways of Working: Key contact/relationship
∎ Work closely with Advocacy & Campaign Lead and other colleagues of on a day-to-day basis and Cross functional department (Programme, Technical, Policy & Advocacy and Business Development & Fundraising).
Job Responsibilities:
∎ Assist in conducting periodic meeting/session with partner Forums/Networks.
∎ Assist in preparation of the meeting/session minutes and reports.
∎ Assist in conducting small-scale research using internal capacity.
∎ Coordinate with external Experts/Consultants.
∎ Support in maintaining and updating the knowledge archiving mechanism of the unit.
∎ Assist team members in developing knowledge and learning products.
∎ Conduct field visits as and when needed.
∎ Any other tasks related to the field of engagement, experience, and expertise as and when required by the organisation and assigned by the supervisor.
∎ These responsibilities will be reviewed with the line manager from time to time and shall be adjusted with organisational priorities!
Additional Requirements:
∎ Extensively travel at different parts of the country.
∎ Written and verbal communication skills both in Bangla and English.
∎ Admirable leadership, facilitation, and presentation skills.
∎ Excellent computer skill, and hands on experience of software like Microsoft Office, SPSS, GIS, Power BI etc.
∎ Strong analytical skills, and capacity to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
∎ Excellent interpersonal skill and ability to provide effective support and to collaborate and coordinate across different teams from diverse background.
∎ Competent to make effective decisions upholding organisational values and Code of Conduct.
∎ Travel: Willingness to travel on a regular basis to remote areas of Bangladesh is required. 30-40% time should be dedicated to field visits.
Salary:
∎ BDT 30,000 + Cell phone allowance BDT 1,000 + Festival allowance BDT 30,000 for completed tenure.
