Skill and Competencies:

  • Seven years of experience in projects with a focus on Disaster Risk Reduction, Climate Change and Adaptation, Environment Restoration and Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development.
  • Experienced in team work and managing small team.
  • Strong organizational skills to ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Ability to plan, implement, budget, provide technical and financial oversight for project activities.
  • In-depth understanding on climate change impacts and vulnerabilities analysis in different context.
  • Good understanding of issues related to climate change adaptation, ecosystem restoration, natural resource management, green protection, gender equity and multi-sectoral interventions.
  • Familiarity with climate-resilient homes and infrastructure development and adaptation strategies.
  • Understanding of the social dynamics and community dynamics in the Sundarbans area.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities and private sector entities.
  • Ability to manage stress, multitask, problem-solving capacities and make informed decisions.
  • Experience in conducting field visits and inspections to ensure quality control.
  • Willingness and enthusiasm to work in challenging and difficult situations in remote locations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in the local language, Bengali and English.
  • Experience in conducting workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing events.
  • Proficient in preparing reports, documentation and presenting findings to stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). 


Responsibilities & Context:

Responsible for:

  • The Upazila Project Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the successful implementation of NABAPALLAB project within the designated Upazila.
  • S/he will be responsible to lead, manage project team and will also maintain balance relationship with NABAPALLAB consortium partner’s teams at local level.
  • The incumbent will be responsible to establish and maintain effective communication with local government bodies, diverse stakeholders and different sectors of the government.
  • Maintain collaborate relationships with local authorities; community leaders and other stakeholders to gain support for the project activities.
  • Coordinate with relevant agencies to obtain necessary permits, approvals, and clearances for project activities.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including project scope, timelines, and resource allocation for the assigned project area.
  • Timely deliveries of project interventions with quality and fulfilling the compliances.
  • Lead the process of beneficiary/participant selection, validation, and engagement with different interventions and services as per the project plan and target.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or issues, and take corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with the Finance and Admin Officer to prepare financial forecast.
  • Work closely with the Finance and Admin Officer to ensure sound financial management and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Monitor project expenditures, review financial reports, and identify areas for cost optimization.
  • Facilitate transparent and fair procurement processes in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Support the Evaluation & Research team in organizing assessments on beneficiaries’ levels.
  • Represent the organization in meetings, workshops, and events related to the project, ensuring effective communication and relationship building.
  • Prepare and submit progress report, case studies and success stories following the guidance shared by senior management.
